Okay if Andrew Lloyd can not get Hugh Jackman for Sunset Blvd he should go after Adam Pascal. He is perfect for the part. He can sing! He is also at the right age!

I wish I could sing.

This is funny...why in the world would you put him in something like that...he's not even in the same league as the others...

Pffft. Why would he be in this, when he should SO be Maria in the revival of West Side Story?

Whenever that is happening.

Shouldn't Andrew Lloyd Webber first get Paramount Studios to agree to film SUNSET BOULEVARD, rights-wise and production-wise?

Maybe he'll do that when he's done AVOIDING NYC.

in relation to what luvtheEmcee had to say, any clue what he is doing these days? Did he really move out to LA? I remember reading something about that before the Rent movie came out..

I hope he changed his mind after RENT actually opened. The man belongs in musical theatre. If he was going to have a huge career as a movie/TV star, it would have happened when RENT first opened on Broadway. Back then, he freely admitted that he had a lot of amazing audition opportunities and that none of them panned out because he wasn't a very good actor.

Maybe he should play CASSIE in a A CHORUS LINE. She basically has that same monologue.

No, that's not how I meant it, I was kidding.

He's doing a little bit of touring, beginning in a couple of weeks -- mainly the college circuit in the Northeast. He's doing scaled-down arrangements of his old music, re-arrangements of some showtunes, and some new music, too, I think. The joke was that he's going everywhere except NYC, and I'm selfishly frustrated, because I can't make it to any of his shows, and I miss seeing him perform like mad.

He'll also be guest starring on Cold Case. His episode airs on April 2nd. Some other television possibilities are also floating around, apparently.

So, no. He's still in New York. It seems like the plan to head to LA fell a bit by the wayside, at least for now.

Wow. That's not something you read every day. Props to him for being so honest.

First off, stanton, doll, welcome.

Secondly, no.

Not gonna happen!! Although, I say first and foremost, Adam was perfect in Rent and Aida. He is stuck in this typecast though! I think because of his voice and style he will always be in rock operas or the like. SUNSET is NOT one of those. He would never fly there and it would be a huge mistake!

Stuck being typecast? Always in rock operas?

I think not.

Umm yeah. Cabaret? Okay, I'll give you Cabaret but I beg to differ that the style of Cabaret is anything like Sunset Boulevard so I stand by my comment further. Yeah, he didnt have to shed much skin for that role.

I'm not comparing Cabaret to Sunset. At ALL. I'm saying Cabaret is not a rock opera, and it's not typical Adam. I'll still hold that it's a huge leap.

Okay, I do agree with you. i think we are both fighting for the same cause. At least from your first response over there it looked like you were in shock that someone mentioned Adam for Sunset.

I don't think he should play the role... and besides, i thought Ewan McGregor is doing it (or was I just fantasizing?!). Anyway I thought Adam didnt like ALW's works? or was it just JCS? I don't think Adam is the right kind of people who should be in this musical... not that he can't sing it (thought he prob can't act it sorry)! It's just weird, esp after hearing Tony Vincent singing 'All I Ask Of You' in a really camp way, I am not prepared to see Adam be in SB!
