thanks so much for posting this, it looks amazing! questions though... 1)What do you think its gonna be rated 2)Am i completly dillusional or did I see Kate Hudson?? and 3) Is this going to be a musical version??
Maybe Im losing my mind about the whole Kate Hudson thing...Helena Bohnem Carter looks like shes gonna be absolutly AMAZING in this!
I like that teaser much better than the theatrical trailer, BUT, I would love it more if there was a lil bit of... I dunno, MUSIC perhaps.
The meat grinder was ubergross.

Is it sad that I did a little jig after watching this?
Don't answer that...

This looks like a great movie, but will it be a good musical?
I don't know, In my mind I find it a tad disrespectful to the genre to promote the film not as it is.

Well, I think it's smart of them to market it as a horror movie, because how well can a song like "The Worst Pies in London" sell the movie?
best, I agree on the blood rose. And that shot of his bloody hand on the picture of Lucy? Gorgeous.

SAluva2: 1. It's rated R. 2. I don't think Kate Hudson is in it, but you can check the IMDb page. 3. Yes. It is a musical movie.

Well yeah, its a horror movie musical... thats what makes it unique. So why not honor it.
Are people that turned off by musicals, that the studio can't let people know?
'Johnny Depp Singing' seems like a better angle than - 'a horror film starring Johnny Depp.'

...and the blood splatter as a broken heart over the final graphic.
But I thought (and STILL think) the trailer for The Phantom of the Opera was wonderful.
A lot can be done (and hidden) in a high-speed, slickly edited trailer. They can add "impact" where there is none.
So... whether the movie is good or not remains to be seen.
But it's a well-made trailer.
I just wish they were SINGING. Come on!
I remember when I saw the Phantom movie on opening weekend, there was a group of people (stupid as they were) who got up after the first 10 minutes and literally shouted, "What the f*ck?! This is a musical!? No way!"
And left.
Wanna bet it happens again here? I'm sure it will. They want to capture the horror audience, but by duping them, not by selling them on a musical.
Trick them into the theatre, and maybe they'll like it.
Not "bloody" likely, is my guess.

(sigh) No singing... I really hope those singing samples show up SOMEWHERE on the net. I can't wait until December 18th for the CD.
The CD cover... is very stupid.

I can't wait to hear Helena sing, also I was a little turned off by the blood. I'm way squeemish.

I was having trouble with the audio anyways. It's very theatrical but I too am really looking forward to some singing? Smaxie mentioned they are still working on the audio part so maybe that is why it is missing. They are probably being very picky about it. Even the Actors themselves may be insisting on it. Most of them don't really want everyone here saying, omg, they just can't sing.
I want to believe they sing well enough for this Movie. It will probably make me long for Patti and Micheal's version of the show. At least, no matter how good or bad it is, it won't keep us Home away from the Theatre, either way.
I am just happy to finally see some trailers and that they look real good. No surprise to me, I thought Jack the Ripper was done very well. I think the bloody parts will go by quickly in the Movie.
