This run of Evil Dead in Toronto has the best posters. Ever. Discuss.

They're great...cant believe they are allowed, however...seems like copywright infringement.
Use as parody exempts it from copyright infringement?
UN-FREAKING-BELIEVABLE.
Ah! I love it. Though, I wish there was one poster showing the actual artwork for the production.
Hah I've been out of town for most of this month, but I come back tomorrow and I can't wait to see these around the city. Its about time to see some inventive theatre marketing in the city. Kudos.
Edit: Cats...there are lots of posters and banners with the actual production images on them. This campaign is a recent one, but the other one still exists.

They should sell T-Shirts! I'd buy one in a second! Somebody tell the producers!
this isn't illegal?
i LOVE these posters!
These are blatant parodies. Parody is not the same as rip-off/infringement. Ergo, not illegal.
Brilliant though, and I second being willing to buy 'em in t-shirt form!
If Parodies were illegal, then there would be no Forbidden Broadway. The posters are brilliant. :)

Amazing.
Although I think Forbidden Broadway does need to get the rights to the songs they parody -- it's just that most composers are cool with letting their songs be used. I remember hearing that sometimes (I think ALW was one) they don't get the rights, so the parodies can't be exact musical duplications of the songs, they just sort of suggest the original melody. I don't think any of the Phantom songs use the actual melodies, just very cleverly similar ones. This information is at least 15 years old and could be wrong, but I remember hearing that.
