Any more info on the upcoming Godspell revival?

All we know for sure is that it is opening in the fall at the Barrymore Theatre and Gavin Creel will be starring as Jesus. Any other casting info??

Telly Leung is playing the same role he did at Papermill's production in 2006, and Kyle Post is a swing.

There are so many threads about this.

First of all, they have not officially booked the Barrymore. It will either be the Barrymore or Booth.

Secondly, expect previews to begin at the end of August or beginning of September.

Other cast members will include Daniel Torres (PIRATE QUEEN) as "We Beseech Thee" Soloist/Jesus Understudy, Sara Chase (LB workshops), and Josh Henry (IN THE HEIGHTS) as Judas.

Not official until they announce it.

The producers were aiming for either the Barrymore or Booth.

I never said you were incorrect. But it's not confirmed until the Public knows.

Godspell is going into the Barrymore. Another timely show will be taking the Marquis.

I thought White Christmas had the Marquis in the fall for a short run.

Yeah, there's no way Godspell, of all shows, would ever play at the Mariott Marquis.

It will most likely open at the Barrymore.

Actually, if Cry Baby does close, it's in the hotel contract that another show is going to have to be in the theatre between Cry baby's final performance, and the start of white Christmas (It's been said before on these boards).

Thoroughly Modern Millie closed 6/20/2004 and La Cage aux Folles started previews 11/11/2004, La Cage closed 6/26/2005 and the Woman in White started previews 10/28/2005. So the theater has gone that long before shows before, don't see why they would need to have a tenant before November.
