When I saw this on the front page of BWW, I thought I read The Light in the Piazza for a second and got all excited...

In response to the Canadians who were wondering when it airs in Canada: It's usually the same night as the American air date. Just adjust the time listed to your time zone. I live in Nova Scotia and it's always the same night, just instead of it being on at 8 (Eastern) it's on at 9 Atlantic time!

The documentary was fantastic! It made people laugh and cry. The cast members who were there last night seemed almost speechless when it was over. Set your DVRs.
The film makers said there were hundreds of hours worth of footage and all we see in the documentary is 1 hour. The film focuses on about 5 or 6 of the cast members. The timeframe is from around the time they moved to Broadway through the Tony's.
The PBS guy said they had thought of maybe making it a reality series, but it requires so much money to be raised in order to make that happen and they just don't have the funds for it. So, we get a 1 hour documentary. The film makers hinted that we may be able to see more footage on a future release, but there was no mention if or when that might happen.
Lin did mention Universal buying the film rights and that he had the first draft of the script in his backpack.
