A lot can happen, yes. But what exactly is included in that "a lot"? More emails? I think a batch of emails could come out directly from Hillary to Elizabeth Warren telling her what a great time she had at the Wiccan lesbian baby killing orgy, and she wouldn't lose any votes from people who are voting for her now.
Here's why the recent NBC/Marist polling info is so important. If Clinton can lock down Colorado, Virginia, and Pennsylvania, her path to 270 is almost unstoppable. With those states, and the others in which she is even stronger, she only needs to win one of these states to get to 270: Florida, Ohio, Nevada, New Hampshire, Iowa, or North Carolina. And that doesn't even consider newly competitive states like Arizona and Georgia. Take a look at the 'winding path' from the smart folks at 538.

It does look good Brian. My favorite vote this season will be cast against DWS, twice if necessary. By that I mean the primary and general, so take it easy Jay.
At what point do you all think the RNC gets ballsy enough to actually defund Trump? At what point do they acknowledge the presidency is out and focus on trying to keep the House and Senate?
If/when they lose this election (and lose it badly), will this also be the end of Rancid Pubes as the head of the RNC?
I am so frustrated right now with Katrina Pierson and Kellyanne Conway that I hope, "and I mean this SINCERELY" that both of them are left standing in their wet dripping underpants and pushed off of Trump Tower very, very soon! ....nah, well, "I was being SARCASTIC"
(my goodness, that did feel good!)
Trump is now recruiting volunteers to monitor polling places to ensure there is no rigging. This reeks of voter intimidation, and must not be permitted.

I was referring to the so called October surprise ( as the talking heads call it). Meaning a terrorist attack that would incite fear and hate and make people vote for Trump.
PJ, Singin in the rain sucked.

There's a lot of speculation about this kind of thing in political circles, and by now, most politicos--Democratic or Republican--think that kind of October Surprise would move people to vote for Hillary over Trump.
He no longer has any upper hand when it comes to national defense. Only among his ever-shrinking white-male base.
Trump's shrinking base is as much about age as it is about race and gender. Well. maybe almost as much. A recent poll of voters under 30 has Trump in 4th place, with less than 10% of the vote.

I hope you are right.
It's not about hope any longer. It's more about when exactly and how exactly will he crash and burn.

I hope soon. He still scares me.
Among the new names added to Trump's economic advisers is Betsy McCaughey. In case the name doesn't ring a bell, she is the batyouknowwhat crazy extremist who was responsible for the most irresponsible allegations against the Affordable Care Act, most notably 'death panels'. She seems just about right for Trump's campaign.
VOX.COM: Right now polls show Donald Trump losing every single swing state

What are the odds the debates don't happen? Trump has already given himself a lot of ways out (they're rigged, the scheduling, the media, not approving of moderators).
If Trump is still the candidate in September (a prospect that seems less and likely by the day), I would bet money there won't be any debates.

That's actually been my prediction since his official confirmation as the candidate. A (young) Republican coworker of mine who hates Trump believes his overwhelming desire for camera time will ultimately lead him to ignore his advisors and he'll participate, but I think he may chicken out under the ruse of conspiracy.

I expect there will be some rough times for HRC also. The October surprise will likely be alleged found and leaked e-mails. The counter weight will be POTUS and VP on the stump!
I'm not sold on the "Trump will drop out" line of thinking... yet. It's something he himself would have to decide to do, and I just can't see him doing it. The RNC can cut him off, Paul Ryan et al. can withdraw endorsements, all of that- but it would still be up to Trump and Trump alone to drop out, which is acknowledging defeat... something he is compulsively unable to do. And if he does, he can tell his supporters to not participate in the election, or vote for Johnson, and screw the GOP over. So the RNC will be delicate with the situation.
The GOP has no mechanism to remove Trump, and I don't see him bailing. His endgame is TrumpTV, starring Sean Hannity, and he needs to foment the fringe for as long as he can to maximize that enterprise. As time passes, it will become increasingly difficult or impossible to get Trump's name off the ballot in many states.

MB - agreed. His inner circle will continue to prop him up and the family is so blood thirsty for power - no reason to stop. We could see extended time away from the spotlight. I wish election were tomorrow! He is still a significant threat to the country!
He dosen't show any signs of dropping out, and we can only hope that Brian is right and this is all going towards some kind of bid to become the next Ruppert Murdoch. I think the one thing going for us afraid to lose him in the next few weeks is that he probably hates the GOP more than anything else now, so if he's going down they're going down. That's what children do.

Days like yesterday are important - Biden gave a great speech and Trump puked on him self. HRC should continue the playbook - voter registration - focus on "swing" states and make no gaffes. There will be rough weeks before November!
