The ratings for last night's debate were expected to be off the charts, and with the performances by the two candidates, I can only hope that was the case. We'll have to wait a few days to see the impact of the debate in the polls, but I'd expect some movement after that wipeout. While these candidates are both well-known quantities to the public, this was America's first opportunity to see them side-by-side, and the disparity was stunning.

She won on racism, she won on his tax returns, she won on the stupid emails, she won on birtherism, she won on foreign policy, she won on cybersecurity, she won on "temperament."

It was amazing. Giuliani says he would cancel the next two debates if he were Trump. He is saying Holt was unfair. Let us see if Trump does two and Three.

Trump can't skip the next debate. That would be even more devastating than last night's performance. And with the next debate more of a town hall format, it will be even harder to blame the moderator.

If Hillary's magnificent performance last night did not convince you that you are wrong, that she is not corrupt or a liar, that she is, in fact, knowledgeable on every issue and poised under pressure and thoughtful almost beyond the measure of any recent president and a superb candidate with the potential to be a great president...

Which is completely contradictory to what Trump himself said afterwards. Both he and Kelly Anne Conway stated they thought Holt did a "fine job."
Now Trump is going on about a broken microphone being the cause of his troubles.

Querido Joey,
I never ever put Hillary's knowledge on the issues or her ability to be poised under pressure into question. Do I think she's a liar. Yes I do. She's lied to the American people on numerous occasions. It's common knowledge and the evidence is only a click away. Do I think she's corrupt? Not really. Do I think she's shady? Yes.
My dislike for Mrs. Clinton has absolutely nothing to do with her gender. I adore women. I may be many things to many people but a misogynist isn't one of them.
I supported her back in '08 when she was running against Obama. I had blind adoration for her. I am not so naive and blind anymore.
I do admit I have been a bit harsh because she really fucking disappointed me with some of her actions and I am still pissed off.
I guess I need to get over it and look beyond all that.
I will however vote on policy, and if I agree with that particular candidates policies on things that matter to me in this world then that is who is going to be getting my vote.
Anyway, I apologize for my tirade within the pages of this here thread and I apologize to you and anyone else on this thread that I may have offended.
I guess the passionate, aggressive side of my puerto-rican-ness got the best of me.

After that debate, I am really scared for the people who support Trump and still claim Obama is the worst president we have ever had. I don't think he is perfect, but certainly way better than Trump.
And this is my bad hearing, but I seriously almost thought Trump said he had the support from Isis when he lied about ICE.

She's really and truly an exceptionally smart, experienced, compassionate candidate. It's difficult to fathom how any thinking person can't recognize that, and can be swayed by nutcase conspiracy theories and ingrained misogyny.
I've realized that there's no possible rational response to people who say things like, "she's cold, she's a liar, she's a criminal, she's in bed with Wall Street." It's all code (conscious or un-) for "she doesn't act how I think a woman should act."
