Crap. I just realized that the only reason I'm beating Geek is because she didn't even make her picks. I'm the Tom Vilsack of this game!
And the Duke thing just sealed my fate.

The first day went pretty well for everybody, all things considered. Right now there's only a 4 point difference between first and last place. That'll change soon, but I'm going to enjoy it while I can.
(God bless Geek for not making picks. It's nice to know you can't come in last no matter how bad things get.)
"<--didnt pick duke in the first round"
Liverpool, you're a stronger person than me. My brain couldn't pick against Duke's history in the Tourney, although my heart told me this was the year to look the other way.
Now Geogia Tech is down 12. COME ON GUYS!
Best of luck today everybody.
I would've picked Duke either way but I went back and forth on that Marquette/Michigan State game.
Friggin Creighton blew there oppurtunity to win at the end of regulation and busted my south region.
Dang it, I had Creighton too!
Dammit! I didn't know BWW had a Bracket contest!
P.S.
I'm really glad that Duke lost.
yeah i picked winthrop also, which was nice
wow, texas looked decidedly vulnerable tonight. dont expect to see them around much longer. (same goes for Memphis and WIsconsin)
I picked Winthrop too. The University is located only about 45 minutes away from here (Charlotte, NC) so they have been getting some major run around here. I had a feeling that this would finally be their year to win one.
As a UNC fan I am also glad that Duke is out -- although this was the only one of my brackets that I picked them to win in (of course).
DUKE is my team. I am upset.
But....
THEY'LL BE BACK!
(as always)
Yes, we're #291,445 in the nation!!!!!
Ouch. I had a bit of a rough day, bracketwise.
i was REALLY rooting for purdue today just because i knew it would **** up everyone else's brackets. damn them for losing.
Wow, it's still pretty close in the bracket!
For most of you, anyway.
Calvin, want to start a Golden Girls bracket? I think I'd do a lot better in that.
*smacks head*
I KNEW there was something I forgot to do!
Oh well. I did fill out brackets for my dad's group on SportsLine...and I'm thirt to last there, mostly becuase my first-round picks weren't so good (I only have 11 of the Sweet Sixteen right, oh well, it could be a lot worse than that) but hey, Duke went down, Pitt got through by the skin of their teeth last night (I was ready to have a heart attack by the end of that game) and Carolina's still movin' on so I'm good. I can't wait for the Pitt/UCLA game! That'll be fun.
I'll have to at least look at everyone's standings. And I'm glad that my forgetfulness could help everyone's self-esteem.
Whenever I see someone refer to "March Madness" I can't help but think of Coral Browne in Auntie Mame:
"After all, it was only Midsummer Madness!!"
It's a tight race right now. It was a great weekend of basketball. I'm glad I get a few days rest until the next round. I tend to feel the need to watch EVERY game, like if I don't watch, my bracket will be blown to bits. Oh well.
My Elite 8 are still all alive and that makes me happy.
I got half the final four and I can still get the finals right if Florida and Georgetown take care of business!
Yeah, so after spending most of the tournament in the top 3 or so, i am officially eliminated from contention. Kansas and Oregon both losing REALLY hurt.
oh and Pac-10 all the way baby. Take it home UCLA
I got 3/4 right (missed on Ohio State), and my final is Florida vs. Georgetown -- so I am in the same boat as JohnPopa!
If Florida had lost I would have been crushed. My dad, who was leading on the poll i'm in, is dead because of Kansas' loss. I think I have Carolina playing in the final game..I'll have to check again, I'm not positive. But that does look like a possibility at this point. I HOPE.
Where's the fun if the final four matchups are both #1 vs. #2?
I want to see Eastern Middle-of-Nowhere State U. make a run!
Exactly, with out a George Mason this year the tourney was kinda blah. of course, being a member of the Colonial Athletic Association made last years GMU run even more exciting.
