did anyone else hear news a while back that on the last night of the wb before the station goes dark, the network was going to show the pilots of felicity, dawson's creek and buffy the vampire slayer?
edit (found the article):
Wb Network Plans Its Own Funeral
30 June 2006 (StudioBriefing)
The WB network plans to sign off on Sept. 17 by airing pilots of some of its biggest hits, including Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Felicity and Dawson's Creek. According to Daily Variety, it also plans to air promos from its 11-year history and clips of some of the actors who have appeared on its shows over the years. The trade publication observed that such a farewell for a network is "unprecedented." The only other network ever to shut down, the Dumont network, did so in 1956 -- again after an 11-year run. Few recordings of its programs even exist today. In 1996, actress Edie Adams, widow of comedian Ernie Kovacs, testified that virtually none of her late husband's early programs exist. She recalled that there had been a dispute over who was to pay for storing the programs that did exist on so-called kinescope recordings. The dispute, she said, was settled when they were loaded onto trucks, driven to a waiting barge, which "made a right at the Statue of Liberty and dumped them in the upper New York Bay."
but i still don't see the shows on the schedule for the wb, maybe it is still too early?

Is the other show BUFFY? Am I even thinking of the right network?

This Sunday, as a matter of fact. According to tvguide.com's listings for my area, the rundown is as follows (this is Central Standard Time; make time adjustments accordingly):
4 pm--Felicity pilot
5 pm--Angel pilot
6 pm--Buffy the Vampire Slayer pilot
8 pm--Dawson's Creek pilot
I feel this is a great way to say farewell to a network; I for one will be glued to my tv.

It would be quite rude of the WB to sign off by leaving a huge cliffhanger on Buffy.
I'm really looking forward to watching the Felicity and Dawson's Creek pilots as well. It's been a while.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 12:31pmI have all of Felicity on DVD. I loved that damn show. You'll be reminded by the pilot how good it was, especially season one.

Maybe the DVD says that bwaysinger, but technically they were not called Welcome to the Hellmouth parts 1 and 2, but rather part 1 was called Welcome to the Hellmouth, while part 2 was called The Harvest.
I'm excited for all of these, though I've seen them all not terribly long ago. (Reruns).
I wonder why they didn't go with the longer running 7th Heaven though. Or Charmed. Even though I never watched 7th Heaven, I'd pick one of those over Angel as a network fan. Ah well, I'm happy to watch the Angel pilot though.
And umm...am I that out of it for not knowing these stations were signing off? Oops.

My guess is that they aren't showing the pilot of 7th Heaven because it survived the merger with UPN. I have no idea why they aren't showing the Charmed pilot, but it's possible that it's because of the Shannon Dohrety/Rose McGowan issue. Pure speculation, of course.
I'm thoroughly looking forward to the pilot of Angel; I came into the series late and can't afford the dvds at the moment. It'll be nice to see where it all began.
Plus the pilot of Buffy shows one of the best things Angel ever did on that show--staking Darla

Posted: 9/11/06 at 5:07pmI think they should also air the series finale of Dawson's Creek. that was great television and, in my opinion, the crowning achievement of the WB network.

Newgirl,
I LOVE Felicity. I have all the DVDs as well. I do believe I've watched those DVDs more than any other series that I have on DVD. That so was sooo good. And for the record, I am a Felicity/Noel fan
Alright fan girl rave over!

Posted: 9/11/06 at 8:38pmThe WB has had some great shows---too bad they cancelled Everwood to bring back 7th Heaven. I liked the older episodes, but it seems like the later ones were just repeating the same stories over and over again, and now that they're bringing it back...ugh. I am not happy with the WB.

Ooh, Popular! Sometimes I forget about the show. Loved the first season; never made it to the 2nd one when they switched it to Fridays. Dumb move.
"Plus the pilot of Buffy shows one of the best things Angel ever did on that show--staking Darla."
Sorry, but that's not true. Angel didn't stake Darla until my favorite episode of the first season, properly titled "Angel," where Buffy and everyone found out he was a vampire.

Posted: 9/11/06 at 11:02pmMy very large bad. For some reason I thought that Darla only lasted through the pilot.
