Hey I know everyone asks for help with songs, but does anyone have any suggestions for a female duet that is belty-ish...? Thanks for anyone who has time to answer!

^ but has the disadvantage of sounding like a scream-fest if both singers belt.

the teachers argument from Fame

"Let the little girl go, and that poor little dog? Dodo." That's my favorite line in the whole show (Wicked). My next favorite line is "Oh! It seems the artichoke is steamed."

I usually try to avoid recomending songs from shows that are currently on B'way, but what about that song from Rent, that goes "take me baby or leave me." I'm not sure exactly what the title is.

"This is what I trained to do, and this is what I love about theater. What I love about being an actress is being able to really look into myself and understand another human being. And out my own self, to shape and form and fashion a real human being--and to present that in such a way that people see something of themselves or their own understanding in that human being." --Phylicia Rashad

I like the suggestion of Side Show...that was the first thing that popped into my head. "I Will Never Leave You" has belts up to E flat I believe with some high mixing to a high G possibly...it's been a few months since I've done the show so i'm not 100% sure...I could take a look in my score if I can find it.

Cheers,

Christopher

It has already been suggested, but "Take Me or Leave Me" from rent was the first thing that popped into my head when I saw your subject. It's really fun to sing too.
