Working from home today. Slight slight chance mom may be allowed to go home today and do treatments as an outpatient. That has gotten her so excited, but it really depends on the diagnosis. Fingers crossed...

Nope, someone gave her false hope. I am setting up my spare laptop so she can watch movies on it until we figure something else out.

So, this is my theme song this morning:

Turns out the quiet woman who moved in below me is a hoarder. She had some plumbing problems and asked me for help because she couldn't shut her water off.
Her unit is filled with piles of clothes and trash. It smells like something died in there and there are roach traps everywhere. About 6 months ago I started seeing roaches and put up a sign asking if anyone else was having problems, and to report them so we can fix the problem before it gets out of hand, and she said nothing.
This makes me crazy. I have 4 units in the front of the building; one is mine and the other three people have sealed their apartments shut and live in the dark. WHY take an apartment with bug windows if you are only going to line them with foil so no one can see in?!
Man, I hate people.

The next time you go into her apartment place these all around.
My grandmother owned an apartment building and the exterminator told her you can't just do 1 apartment, you need to do all to kill them.

Posted: 1/15/14 at 3:27pmShe claims she's being persecuted because of her age (she's past 90) and because she's Asian. They jump on it every time, it gets settled quickly, and starts all over again. Unfortunately, she's also a long-term tenant, rent stabilized and never bought her apartment. ( Our building has a non-eviction policy ) She's also in remarkable physical health. It's a nightmare that will only end when she does.
