Safe travels to for JG2 and family, and fro, for Addy.
Monday morning - BAH!
Tink, kick that cold in the behind!
Mom is doing OK - next week is the next round of treatment, so hopefully she tolerates it well.
Otherwise, off to work - lots to do, lots to do. Moving to the corner offices, which means time to purge some crap after 19 years. The corner office actually has less storage, but has a view of the HW mountains (and the sign), LA Live, and the water - very far in the distance. Nice for a bit of daydreaming.

Y, I had a view of the City Hall roof garden and Lake Michigan, but we moved to save thousands in rent!
Shoveling complete and my lungs survived. I actually feel pretty good and it's a good test of my strength coming back. Now, back to crappy daytime television.

When are you cleared to return to work? I'd be going stir-crazy by now!
Tomorrow!
Quick hello. Heading to the airport in a little while. The flight isn't until this afternoon, but we have to be there super early for 2 security checks...
But, that's fine with me. The more security the better.
Will send photos if/when I can and will share stories when I get home. Have a great week! xo
YWIW - glad Mom is hanging in there!! New office sounds good!
SOMMS - just take it easy.
Happy and safe travels addy!
Is today over yet? I didn't think it was possible to be annoyed by some many people in a short time frame!

Addy - have a great and safe trip!
Hello, hello, hello.
Good class this morning, surreal department meeting this afternoon. We're all looking at the candidates for our BFA programs, and of course the rivalry between the Graphic Design and Advertising departments hit an all time low in petty stupidity.
We both have enough students to open two sections. However, GD has more than AD. So this came from one of the GD Professors:
"AD can't have two sections with only 16 students in each section while GD has 25 in each section. Everyone in GD will be upset."
Seriously? Does she even realize how that makes her sound and how it weakens her position?
The crazy just gets crazier.
3 more years, just 3 more years...
Deet, perhaps she just can't figure out how to split the 25 evenly.
Tell her to cut a student in half.
Triple post

Sadly, Addy has warmer temperatures than we do! Enjoy the games, Addy - we'll watch for you in the crowd scenes.
Everyone braced for the coastal storm on Thursday? If we get as much snow as some of the computer models are predicting, we'll be out of school on Thursday and Friday, followed my the holiday on Monday. I hope no one was counting on getting a good education this year!
Mornin'
Boobs, GD will have two sections of 25 students each. We'll have two sections of 16 students each. The irony is they helped create the situation by funneling students they don't want into our program. And we'll take them!
Luckily, there were representatives from other departments in the room yesterday to witness the behavior. Now they know we're not making this crap up. The glances and eye-rollings were hilarious, made even funnier because the two GD faculty, who I've nicknamed Cluster and Cluck, were completely unaware of what was really going on in the room.
I've already alerted my students to check their emails by 6:30 on Thursday morning. The school, as is its wont, will wait until the very last minute to announce it is closing, by which time some of my students who travel in from upstate or further out on Long Island will have started to trudge in ( a few of them are that dedicated ). I've already decided to cancel the class -- Heaven forbid the dorm students have to trudge across the street in such horrible weather! -- but I can't announce it yet.
Boobs, did you watch Her yet? Anyone here see it? I tried searching to see if a thread existed, but you can imagine what popped up. A lot of nonsense!
Found the thread. Searched for Joaquin Phoenix instead.

I watched it on Thursday night, girly. I thought it was good.
Enjoy, Addy!!!
This snow forecast is getting insane. People really do believe anything they briefly see. I've heard so many varying reports in the last hour at work. So I'm preparing that tomorrow will be my last day in office until March. Making sure to print and copy all things necessary today. We pretty much have no place left to put snow in our complex. Our cars are already 3+ feet out of the spots as it is. But I can't stay by Mr. Happy during storms because the town doesn't plow his street to almost 24 hours AFTER the storm.
Morning peeps! My computer screen protectors finally arrived at work. Which means the a$$hole who sits next to me now can't see my screens. from his seat the screens look like they're off. Bwhahahahahahaha no more...."what are you buying?" "what are you looking at?" "what site is that?"
Girly, I have not watched "Her" yet. Hopefully next week when I'm off I'll have more time to catch up on them. It's tough at night to get HC to sit down. He's always dong something for the next day. Watching him do anything is like watching a movie in slow motion. He makes me look like I'm on speed.
Deet, it is so kind of you to cancel your class. It's nice to know they are still people out there concerned about other humans. Not my boss, he tells you to come in no matter what. Even though I can easily work from home. A*hole
Idina's performing Let It Go at the Oscars!! I was hoping they wouldn't give it to someone else to do!! YAY!!!!!
