Hi Jungle!

I've never been to Atlantis, but I hear it's phenomenal. Treasure is probably the exact opposite. It's very low key. People go there to fish, dive, snorkel, drink and relax.

But, it does have one of the top rated beaches in the world.

Cookie - since we were just talking about this last night, thought you'ld like what was in my mail this morning. Somehow, between going to Colorado to check out my friend's theatre and going to Hawaii, I really want to see this!

Shameless - Atlantis was quite an amazing resort. It sounds like you will have a great time relaxing on Treasure. I hope that our vacation to Maui will be very laid back.

Doesn't it look lovely? And I'm sure, because of the location, that they put a bit of effort into replicating the environment as much as possible - and yet, with all the modern ammenities.

Jungle, I don't see how you can go wrong in Maui.

Rath, pack a bag, grab your passport or birth certificate and start heading south. We're not leaving until next Friday. You should be able to hitch your way here by then.

So yeah, tomorrow I have lunch with my bf who's abandoning me for three months, and then go upstate for the big goodbye to the people who are abandoning me forever.

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. Can't wait to get on that plane and sleep...this day is really draining me. Wish the flight left earlier, but heck I've waited this long what's a couple of more hours. I hope to have internet connect on board, but may not so don't worry if you don't see me posting.

I will post when I can to let you know I got there safe and sound.

Jungle - we'll be on Kauai in September at this magical place. It's on the north-east corner, which has been set aside for natice land reclamation - so NO commercial development! It's design is based on a traditional Japanese Tea House, so the screens that form the walls slide away. The outer wall of the bathroom in our suite (the Hibiscus) was removed, making the shower an outdoor thing - nestled against a hillside full of ferns and orchids.

It is one of my favorite places on the planet!

Hi DG! That place looks amazing - and so relaxing! The north shore of Kauai is so beautiful and September is a great time to go. I stayed on the south shore in Poipu a couple of years ago (for my birthday) in September and loved it.

Jungle - I forgot to mention that the couple who own and run it are from ATLANTA! They've been there about 7 or 8 years now, I think. One of the men was a top gynocologist there, and his partner was one of the top drag performers (he looked - and still acts like! - Delta Burke They are super sweet men, who have truly made it a haven from the world.
