Ask any doctor. They recommend you jog on grass if possible. Basketball players always wind up with bum knees after playing after their feet and knees taking a pounding on the hardwood floor during their career. Your foot takes a jolt and it was not designed with shock absorbers.

Yes, really. I know a woman (in her mid-50s) who recently underwent a hip replacement, due to years of hiking/running.

Roxy could be right on this one, I believe.

I assume we are discussing the survival of our individual consciousness, the part of our psyche (the ego) we think of as ourselves. Obviously, the atoms and molecules of which our bodies are composed survive indefinitely.

If we are discussing individual consciousness, then CAN I imagine I am going to die? Sure.

Do I believe I am going to die? No. I believe consciousness survives the body, but that is a leap of faith, not something that I can prove rationally.
