Picture it. Wichita, 1995. A young girl comes back from her first time seeing Les Miz. She's enraptured, thrilled, exhilerated. She proceeds to put on bathrobes and baseball caps and smudge her cheeks with pencil lead. She uses her bunkbed as a barricade. She gets that death scene down "just so." She is Eponine.

Would you deprive that child of the chance to live out her greatest theatrical dream?

I ask you.

I will be honest... I actually really like the song.
It is just the ultimate in o"verdone".
Now if you send us a "youtube" of yourself now, reenacting that scene, you win. Hands down.

Heading out for lunch soon so I'll answer in more detail later.

But as for what artists will piss me off -

Brits: ALW (Yes, Diva did him justice, but Britain is about SO MUCH MORE THAN HIM!) and B&S (Kitz, I like "On My Own" a lot, but I'm just saying that if you do anything less than stellar, I'll grade you really low - this is like the "My Heart Will Go On" of Broadway songs, so if you're subjecting us to it, you've GOT to do it better than well!)

Canadians - Shania. Avril. Celine.

As for the Canadian artist you should consider, Spider, there's a great Canadian rock band called "Our Lady Peace". Their old stuff is great. I'll send you some songs, but first I'll see if there's even any accomp for them! Also consider Bryan Adams (something aside from "Everything I Do").

Wow, there's actually a lot more to choose from but I'm overwhelmed with all the possibilities!

OH! I would LOVE someone to do something from Michael Buble. LOVE LOVE LOVE. (You'll recall that 86 and I became an "item" because he did a fantastic rendition of Buble's "Home" in the first round.)

OH! For the ladies, Chantal Kreviasuk (sp? - the wife of the lead singer from OLP - she did "Leaving On A Jet Plane" for the Armageddon soundtrack but she does her own stuff too) is a great option.

I really like "GBYBR" I think it is harder, which means it should be done. Quality.

It is that notion of who "might not go on" that is a bit of a negative of suggesting songs at this point. Honestly any of the 5 of you could go home. Which is sad, but as we saw last week NO ONE is safe, no matter how well they have done in the past.
