Blah blah.. everyone has always loved you.
My poor post was eaten by the thread monster:
I really like "GBYBR" I think it is harder, which means it should be done. Quality.
It is that notion of who "might not go on" that is a bit of a negative of suggesting songs at this point. Honestly any of the 5 of you could go home. Which is sad, but as we saw last week NO ONE is safe, no matter how well they have done in the past.
Cam: the keepers try to keep me in line.
But you're the next BWW Idol my dear. Get used to it
There are others of us who would like a shot at it, Kitz--yourself, too eh?
It's a lil rough having to claim songs before the voting on the current round even happens. But, I think all of us have the "if I make it through" implied.
Ooook. Well, I'm going to get something to eat before the show. See you all back here at 5.
All of you have a pretty even shot at making it all the way.
It seems everyone has their fans, but there are also large numbers of "swing" votes available.
Of course I'd like to win, but from where I stand Kerrie is the one to beat. Nothing against anyone else, but she's been my personal favorite almost from day one. She's consistent and she BRINGS it almost every week.
My goal at this point is the top 4. I honestly don't see myself going farther than that (if I even make the cut this week). And this isn't me digging for compliments, it's me being honest.

This will be my favourite theme, hands down. It's about time we got into the greatness of Canadian music. I think my head would explode if I had to choose a song for myself this week! Check out this website for a list of some great Canadian musicians.

I would love to hear someone do an East Coast song. That's where I live, and have my whole life, so it's something very close to my heart. A very distinctive sound! And here's something cool: There's a band from Cape Breton called The Cottars. They're becoming pretty well known internationally, and none of them are older than 18. They're playing Carnegie Hall on St. Patrick's Day! Anyway, the lead singer happens to sound a LOT like Kerrie. https://www.thecottars.com/music.htm Listen to the clip of "Ready for the Storm". My favourite Cottars song.
As for the guys... I would love for someone to do an Our Lady Peace song. Clumsy? Middle of Yesterday? PLEASE?! Or what about Great Big Sea? They have a buttload of awesome songs. Or Neil Young. Or Tom Cochrane (Life is a Highway, anyway? Heeee). Or The Tragically Hip. Or Jimmy Rankin (or the whole Ranking Family, for that matter). There's SO much to choose from!
Okay, I'm done rambling. Here's a French-Canadian folk song to get you in the Canadian spirit, heh. It's a choral song, sung by my choral ensemble (our first professional-quality recording!!). ![]()

Well, you could say that of others, Kitz. But, it's very cool of you to support your fellow contestant.
Jerby, You always "bring it" too.
lol--I was thinking of spiderdj, but thank you.
Ok I am really excited about next week. British and Canadian music is amazing, Anyone who does OLP or Elton John...and does it how it should be done, well I will most likely love you even more. Same goes with U2, and well actually anyone.
Seriously, before my votes were going to about the same people. As of right this second it is anyone's game. Everyone left has had amazing performances.
So y'all better rock
Awww, Jrb. I also say you and Kerrie will be the top 2 as well.
Sorry, Jane but I am doing an Oasis song for my "British" song. I am either doing "Champagne Supernova," "Don't Look Back in Anger," or "Little By Little."
Tiff--If you could send those songs to me, I would greatly appreciate it.
Kerrie--I will look that song up for ya!!!
Well, ok, if you insist Spidey! I haven't heard of those songs so this should be a pleasant surprise to me.
Tiff, Kerrie, and Allie--I found karaoke tracks to "Somewhere out There" and "Where Are You" from OUR LADY PEACE. I will listen to the actual songs when I get home.
GASP!!!! You never heard "Champagne Supernova?" How did you live through the 90's without hearing that song?
This is getting too close to the bottom. Alright, guys and gals . . . I just found out that I will not be able to go to the library so I can't read/listen to anything until I get home around 7:30pm.

Those are both great OLP songs, spidey. I like "Somewhere Out There" better, though, if I have to choose.
For the Canadian side of it...
COREY MOTHEREFFING HART!
Pengers, have you been giving the keepers the slip again??
Since I don't have the ability at the moment to listen to clips, is "Somewhere out There" a slow song or fast?
"GASP!!!! You never heard "Champagne Supernova?" How did you live through the 90's without hearing that song"
Aaaaahhhhhhh put down that axe! I never listen to popular music! call the police!
hahaha, Jane. You are forgiven.

Spidey, I'd say it's actually somewhere in the middle... more on the fast side, though. It's not a ballad or anything.
Good, because all three Oasis songs that I am considering doing are slow. I want to have a contrast between my two.
