Presidential election. One year to go. November 5 2024. Literally the fate of the world will depend on this day.
Not necessarily for fun, but just to see how much attention should be paid to pundits and news reports... who do you we think will win? Who will be the nominated candidates be? Will it be close?
Predictions, please. Then we can look back to see who was right, if anyone. It will be interesting. We might look very smart, or very stupid. Of course I'm sure this thread will sink without any response, but no harm to ask. Join me.
As of now, I myself am not even convinced that Joe Biden will run. He says he is, but that could just be to avoid being a lame duck, and to avoid the GOP targeting any potential Democrat frontrunner. He will have the plausible excuse of "health reasons" to drop out, allowing Kamala Harris or somebody else to swoop in and suck up Trump's oxygen.
Will Donald Trump be the GOP candidate, or will something radical happen to bar him from elected office ever again? This could mean another GOP candidate, with Trump receiving write-in votes from deluded MAGAists. Securing a win for Biden. Perhaps Donald Trump's plan will go smoothly, and the idiot masses will lead him to a decisive victory? Leading to arguably the darkest day in American history.
I am an optimist, so as of now, I still have unearned faith in the electorate... I'll go with comfortable win for Joe Biden.
Be brave, tell us what YOU think.
