I was using "none" to mean "no opinion," really. Of the performances I've seen (Carell, Baldwin, Parsons, Galecki), I don't think any of them are deserving, and since I haven't seen LeBlanc's or Louis CK's shows, I can't really weigh in on them. Of the nominated actors, I have no opinion on who should win, though I think Carell will take it.
My default would usually be to say that Baldwin deserves it, but he really coasted this season, and I'd say he was nominated as force of habit more than anything else.

Fingers crossed for...
Comedy
Best Actress - Laura Linney
Best Actor - Jim Parsons
Best Sup.Actress - Betty White
Best Sup.Actor - Jon Cryer...or Chris Colfer
Comedy - The Big Bang Theory
Drama
Best Actress - Julianna Margulies
Best Actor - Steve Buscemi
Best Sup.Actress - Christine Baranski
Best Sup Actor - Josh Charles
Drama - The Good Wife
And while I'm here, may I vent about the lack of nomination for Toni Collette, or United States of Tara in general...'tis a sin.

my only two hopes are Steve Carell and Amy Poehler... Amy is just GENIUS as Leslie Knope and it's a shame the show wasn't nominated or any of its casts members... notably Nick Offerman as Ron Swanson who KILLS it every episode he's on!
and with Steve... I thought he deserved an Emmy years ago... as critics are saying... this past season was his swan song and he went out hilariously and gracefully that he deserves not just for that but the sincerity and honestly he puts into that character

All of the nominees are Great, but I would like to see
Julianna Marguilies, Alan Cumming and Archie Panjabi from
the Good Wife win
Ed O'Neill and Sofia Vergara win for Modern Family...
If Vergara wins I believe she will be the first Latina Actress in her category to get the golden prize.

Parks and Recreation is like Everybody's Loves Raymond for me. It's one of those shows that everyone seems to love and I just don't get it.
Totally for Modern Family tonight.
And I'm hoping for some Game of Thrones love - it was, for me, the most exciting, engaging drama of the year by far. And I even knew what was going to happen from reading the books.

I'm watching the red carpet coverage on E...
Sofia Vergara : I just love my Colombian emerald earrings...
Ryan Seacrest : What's the estimated retail value of those?
I mean, really.

I guess Julie Bowen winning was shocking combined with the awkwardness of Jane Lynch hosting. I am glad she won. I felt like she had a somewhat thankless role on the surface and really ran with it. Plus I've loved her since Ed.
Ty Burrell winning is not a shock. He should have won the previous year and I say that as one of Chris Colfer's biggest supporters.
I think this is Modern Family's night. Thank goodness they stuffed the supporting categories. I am really pulling for Amy Poehler. I think it will be a shock if Carell does not win but the Emmy voters love Alec Baldwin.
I think Marguelis wins her category or Mariska Hargitay gets the Kyra Sedgwick treatment and gets sent off with a trophy. I personally want Elisabeth Moss or Connie Britton winning.
Jon Hamm is kicking himself thinking he had an opening with Cranston out of the equation but I could really see Buscemi winning. He fits the type of a steady working character actor rewarded, and the Emmys are often that forum where it happens.

The pageant skit was genius for the Best Actress category. I could definitely see all of those women as buddies.
Did Melissa McCarthy deserve it? Love her, love her in Gilmore Girls especially, but I never bothered checking in on her show.

Posted: 9/18/11 at 8:51pmMaybe she's riding a wave of success after singlehandedly stealing BRIDESMAIDS.
#23Emmy Prediction Thread
Posted: 9/18/11 at 8:52pmWell, I did not want to say it but yeah, there's the Bridesmaids effect. Hopefully she gets award recognition specifically for the movie.
#24Emmy Prediction Thread
Posted: 9/18/11 at 8:57pmI definitely think that has a lot to do with it. Regardless of who won, can we take a moment to appreciate the fact that all six nominees were 1) over 40 and 2) actually talented?
