Felt like a great year for movies to me. Anyone have a top 10 list?

Here's mine in no particular oder:

Decision to Leave is the only one that really wowed me this year. Still need to see Women Talking, Babylon, and White Noise.

Many I've yet to see but so far Banshees of Inisherin is by far the year's best with four of the best performances in years.  

Loathed Tár, which begins promisingly as a battle of ideals and ends up as trite melodramatic comeuppance.  Absolutely flummoxed how the overblown mess that is Glass Onion can be getting its reviews; what a letdown after the pleasures of Knives Out.  

I liked She Said very much, especially the brief exquisite appearances of Samantha Morton and Jennifer Ehle.  Decision to Leave is a beautiful movie but - me dim? -  at times I found it unintelligible.  Bardo is visually splendid but that's all, Inárittu clearly wanted to make his All That Jazz/8 1/2 (with a dash of Wild Strawberries) but his dispassionate protagonist, of only middling intellectual allure, has neither charisma, tragic flaw nor even a recognizable midlife conflict. 

Nope is a great ride.

I saw “Women Talking” the other day and for me, I think it’s far and away the best film of the year.

I liked Glass Onion, but didn’t love it. Also, anyone else notice this is Leslie Odom Jrs second murder mystery franchise lol. I don’t think anything has beaten Everything Everywhere All At Once for me. That film was perfection. Nope is a distant second. Avatar is at an even further third. Smile was much better than most horror films but couldn’t quite break fourth place. Batman completes my top 5. The rest of my top ten, in no particular order. She Said, Top Gun, Bodies, Fantastic Beasts, The Lost City. Honorable mention: See How They Run and The Good Nurse.

I saw Women Talking twice and agree with Jordan.  The year's underrated masterpiece. 

I also loved Banshees of Inisherin, Wakanda Forever and The Women King. 
Enjoyed the Fabelman's well enough, especially the last few minutes of the film.  But it isn't super successful for me.
Everything Everywhere All at Once is a movie i admire and I get the love for but it's just way too frenetic to be my kind of film.  Very happy for the great Yeoh and the cast that people are loving it more than I did. 

i am rooting for both my two #1s, Women Talking and Banshees to win screenplay Oscars, and I think they might just pull it off.  Certainly they both deserve it.

Personally I'd like it to be Tar and Living (my two favorite movies of the year) but I'm pretty sure it's going to go your way.

Since this is a "favorite films" list and not technically about who will or should win awards, I have to say "White Noise" has really stuck with me even though I had assumed it was about this chat board. It was not about this chat board.

I also loved "Infinity Pool" even though it was not about pool sharks.

I loved "Skinamarink," a real "not for everybody" film that I am happy to say was definitely for me.

The documentary "All the Beauty and The Bloodshed," about photographer Nan Goldin and the odious Purdue Pharma stopped me in my tracks.

i thought All Quiet and Glass Onion were overrated and could have benefitted from some cuts.  Didn’t see the big deal about The Woman King.  Hated Babylon, although there were some entertaining portions.  Have not seen Till or Living yet.  Have no interest in seeing The Whale.

Hadn’t opened this thread in months. I never even think to come to the OT Board with the setup of this board, now. 
 

Anyways last month I finally watched ”Aftersun” and it overtook ”Women Talking” for me for best film of the year and it immediately took a spot on the list of best films I’ve ever seen. If I were a betting man, I’d put money on it fairly quickly entering a lot of the “Top 100 films of all time” lists.

I loved Skinamarink. Reminded me of early Lynch and really got under my skin. 

It's early, but I'm sure Infinity Pool will end up on my 2023 list.

All quiet... so bad. The music was especially disturbing.  They should have called it something different the 1929 classic so much better. This is a different story.  The make up sad. A falsity of history also.
