My college's theatre groups put on many plays and musicals every year. Some are well-known, but most are obscure shows which a lot of people diss and refuse to see. I've heard crap like, "I'm not going to see this show, it's supposed to be really bad. Why don't they do stuff like Rent or Wicked." When I ask them how they know a show is bad if they haven't seen it, they say that it's because they've never heard of it before.

I think it's a good thing to expose people to new material. There's no point in performing shows that people have already seen multiple times. I wish people would open their minds up to more shows, especially when it doesn't cost a thing to see a show put on by my college. The worst case scenario is when you have to pay $5, but that's usually reserved for the more popular stuff that people are more willing to see anyway.

Oh, I feel your pain, Ariella. I really do.

Pirates of Penzance is so firmly stuck in my head that I can't think of anything else. Either the songs are stuck in my head or I'm reviewing ways that we can tighten up choreography. Geez!

i was on top of the world for a few weeks, but t now i am very unhappy with all aspects of my life.

my dayjob is awful & seems like its just getting more so.

i had such a horrible day.

a few weeks ago they fired over half the company....now my old boss is boss of everybody & a new person is my immediate boss.

today i was sitting at my desk, eating my lunch, reading all the news blogs LIKE I HAVE EVERY DAY FOR THE PAST THREE YEARS, & i feel a tap on my shoulder, & its the new boss.

she says "this is a gentle warning; if you're sitting at your desk, you should PROBABLY be working".

i couldnt even say anything, coz my mouth was full...& i was too shocked to think of anything to say anyway!

its distressing in multiple ways; even more than being cut off from my ONLY source of mental stmulation & socialization, i HAD really liked PAM, the new boss, & was enthusiastic about working with her.

ok, i have to find a new job now.

I am making a Curious George brochure for my class.

I have to do a 45 minutes teaching about Curious George using a bunch of sunshine state standards. And I have to make a 10-14 day lesson plan-- also using sunshine state standards. urg

My freshman P.E. class works harder than the Advanced Conditioning classes. We run one and a half miles, then do two sets of stairs in the ampitheatre, then play some sport for an hour. I am so exhausted.

I just watched a high school production of Hair. I scarcely know how to describe it. Apparently one can't say "masturbation" in a school setting, so during Sodomy, people held up a sign with the word instead instead. However, the kid playing Berger was one of the most gorgeous specimens of attractiveness that I'd seen in a long time.

I just wrote a really long blog on myspace and I am thankful that my myspace is private.

I'm not tired.

I can't wait for rehearsal on Sunday. Actually, any rehearsal day- rehearsals are fun. The guy playing Sid is cute and three of us named him "Sarah" so nobody knows who we are talking about.

I feel like I'm in second grade but it's oh-so-fun.

i am so depressed, frustrated & miserable about work.
i dont even know how to go about finding another job.

have you ever had a friend or relationship that you know you have to drop, becuase you can see it getting worse & you see that theres no hope of it getting better?

thats how work is.

its just getting worse & worse & i can feel myself getting more numb to it all (when i get upset, i shut down rather than get vocal or bitchy), which is gonna lead to them deciding i have "a bad attitude" & getting rid of me.

so *i* need to get rid of the job before the job gets rid of me.

as Dolly Parton said, I GAVE ALL THE GIVING (& I TOOK ALL THE TAKING)

coming in early, staying late, working thru lunch....it doesnt get me any bonus points.
going beyond my job & doing personal favors for my bosses....it doesnt get me any bonus points.

but i DO know that if i stop doing these things, i *WILL* get negative points...(does that make sense?)

& i feel i am under more scrutiny than my coworkers...my desk is out in the open, where i can be seen by everyone at all times, while my coworkers are tucked into little nooks where they can go all day unnoticed.

my project manager hates me (& i do think theres some homophobia to it); she uses me as a scapegoat...i've actually overheard her blaming missed deadlines on me when it wasnt even my project.
she gives me mmor than my share of work so that the other teammembers (who are her friends outside of work) are free to go to lunch or to happy hour with her.

our mythical HR Dept offers no relief; they might as well have a giant plaque that reads YOU ARE REPLACEABLE....thats their attitude, & they are very open about it. they dont want to hear problems...if you have a problem, you ARE a problem, GOODBYE.

We have this stupid critical assignment project due on Monday and it took quite a bit of time to do.
2 of my friends call me and ask if I want to make money. Thankfully, I realized right away why they were asking. So, I said no. I told them I'd HELP them but not do it for them. I was doing another critical assignment project for another class.

So....now they are coming over. Well, they stopped at the supermarket and got me a bagel without even asking! Yay!
Now lets see how much of their projects I'll be doing...

I bought a pair of jeans today with a gift certificate I got for Christmas. Somehow, I dropped a pant size since the last time I went shopping? I'm definitely not complaining, but I have noooo idea how I managed that! I love my new jeans, though. :)
