"Because I'm non-racist, non-homophobic, and non-prejudiced, I can get away with it. You can only make fun of people if you like them."
Uh-huh. The myths we have to tell ourselves to prevent our own suicides.
Also, she thinks there's an audience for "a Broadway show" about her life
I can't stand her either. If you ever saw her on Celebrity Apprentice, you saw how mean and angry she is.

She should urge Dan Savage to rename "It Gets Better" to "Those Bullies Like You, They Really Like You".
Since she stapled her stomach and lost about 150 lbs, I thought she'd be nicer. NOT

But it's just an act! She's "satirizing prejudice"! And I'm "a retard" for thinking otherwise!
I can't stand her either and have a lot of friends who love her. They always tell me I'm being "too activist" and I should lighten up. But I find her repulsive.

That's a new one on me. "Too activist." That's really funny. Sounds like a new yogurt brand.
She was a special guest at Chelsea Classics' last screening of Mommie Dearest at the Ziegfeld this past summer where she was given an honorary award for her support of the Gay Men's Health Crisis while on Celebrity Apprentice. After receiving her award she did a 20 minute set and I really didn't care for how comfortable she was using the word "f@gg0t" in a theater packed with gay men. I don't care if you're an ally of the gay community. If you're a straight person you have no place using that word.

She provides an interesting yet horrible service. She gives her loving audience, men in particular, the permission to say horrible things out loud and when they're called on it, she gives them permission to dismiss the criticism with "lighten up" or "I'm just kidding" or "you're too pc". You can see it in the Musto interview. I am well on record loving the guy, but Lisa's toxic presence gives him permission to use "dinge queen" again and again. In print.

" I had a date rapist who took no for an answer! How low is your self-esteem when a date rapist says "Forget it"? "
Vile.
I've always found her disgusting. And I don't care how big of a check she writes. It doesn't give her the right to use the language that she does.
Her whole shtick is predicated on the idea that hateful words are a necessary part of discourse--bettter to get ahead of your enemies and use them first, pre-emptively.
A sad and toxic view of the world.

On the Apprentice, where she wasn't supposedly doing her standup routine, she dismissed almost everyone else, abused them verbally, never smiled, yet was held in high esteem and considered the "wise one." wise ass.
I thought I was the only one who felt that way. All the comments on her Youtube videos go something like, "It's an ACT. She LOVES the gays." You'd never know it.
She was a big bully in CELEBRITY APPRENTICE, constantly making incredibly offensive comments about one of the contestants whom she decided she didn't like from the get-go. I cannot stand her, she's not funny, she's just pretty despicable.
I'm not a fan of telling anyone what words they can and cannot use when it's their living to use language to create.
I just ask that they have a point. And I feel Ms. Lampanelli rarely has one.
She maintains that she is "helping" by making taboo words less taboo.
As though de-sensiting the larger community's ears to hurtful words makes those words ANY less hurtful to the people whose skin the words are designed to pierce.
The episode of 'Louis' where the gay guy at the poker game explained why "faggot" is hurtful did more good in six minutes of dialogue than Lisa Lampinelli will do in her entire career.
On WTF with Marc Maron she really came across like a raging narcissist. At one point, she literally bemoaned her lot in life claiming, "I want to be one of the all-timers."
That will never be happening, Lisa.
Wow, she sounds like a complete and utter skank. I'm so glad that I'm not that all familiar with her.
she dismissed almost everyone else, abused them verbally, never smiled, yet was held in high esteem and considered the "wise one."
And yet you like Abby Lee Miller! LOL
Nope, not any more! We had a discussion here the other day about that show and I said I couldn't watch anymore because of what has become of her and the mothers. Vile.
Good for you, Jane! Atta girl!
