Many thanks to everyone! I had a terrific day, although I could have done without the birthday greetings that were submitted to the local radio station claiming I was SEVENTY years old. (It turns out it was my pastor's idea of a joke!)

My family was here for our traditional birthday meal (bruschetta, tomatoes/basil/mozzerella, mussels marinara) and my son made me a diabetic-friendly cake with reduced sugar. My 2 1/2 year old granddaughter seems to love mussels as much as I do!

We attended the Gateway Playhouse's production of GENTLEMEN PREFER BLONDES. It was a passable production. The gal playing Lorelei Lee lacked any of the humor that is required for the role-although she sang and danced quite well. However, it's sad when the lyrics for "Little Girl From Little Rock" and "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" don't get laughs. They are screamingly funny songs that didn't go over as well as they should have. It just made me love Carol Channing all the more.

Still, it was a good day and I'm proud to have an AARP membership!

Heaven Forfend! I missed this landmark occashun. Sad. Terribly. Sad. Our long standing mutual affecshun is about as apeeling as a case of the shinguls in Billings Montanna. Still he prays for me. What a guy!

I mean, who wouldn't plotz over someone who loves Carol, Loretta, correcting grammer, a host of assorted chorus boys, tomato/tomatoe plants, sweet basul, and his beautiful granddaughter!

Sounds like you had a wonderful day! Congrats on living to be 60...or the second oldest person here in the zoo. My hardyest well wishes to someone who will always be like a shadow...an older shadow.
