Hope you have a fun unknown shoot, Claire.
Okay, so I am getting into this wizard rock genre. Some of these bands are actually pretty decent.
Anyone else a big geek like me for that reason?
Stephen, you're alive! Did you watch the Braves game today? Wasn't it fantastic?! What exactly is the wizard rock genre?
I am alive.
Wizard Rock is basically bands that are formed to make music based on the Harry Potter series.
The original band was Harry and the Potters, although personally I am partial to Draco and the Malfoys.
Here is a site that has links to a lot of the different bands:

It's TOTALLY geeky, but really fun.
Oh my God, I totally forgot about the HP thread!! What chapter are we on??
16. I sent Sara some questions for Chapter 17, I figure she'll put that up tomorrow.
Crap, I'll have to find the link again. I think I'm really behind.

Thanks Stephen! I'm going to read the chapters and get caught up tonight.
edit: delayed double post. Updated On: 5/8/06 at 01:10 AM
I suspect that since you are posting in the DH thread that you are all caught up on HP and are ready to post your answers? :-P
*ducks*
I'm sorry, Lord McManBitch, I'll do that right away.
You have to listen to this song, Tiff.
It's on my MySpace profile.

It's basically the Snarky McManbitch ANTHEM!
Sorry, I'm totally distracted by "Golden Girls Gone Wild".
Yeah, that has a tendency to distract some folks to.
Either way you cut it, Bea Arthur is H-O-T!
FUUUUUUUUUCCCCCIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNGGGGGGGGGG-AAAAAAAAAAA!!!!
God, I hate this school! So, I've just been informed (after checking in at the graduation office and discovering that they still haven't sorted out the problems with my minors) that I have to move to another floor by the 16th, through the 24th, when I graduate, because they're painting my floor. WTF?!?!?! I F*CKing HATE THEM! Like I have nothing else going on, that I have time to move AGAIN! And my RA's like "well, it's just like moving a week earlier." No, it's just like moving twice in a week, unnecessarily. I've got a friggin desktop computer, it's not like I can just pop my SH*T in a bag and cart it upstairs. It's going to be an ordeal, and I don't have the time, energy, or patience to deal with any more of this NONSENSE!
Ugh, that really is f*cked up, Nic.
I can't believe they don't see the problem here. Idiots.
At least you can take some comfort in the fact that very soon you can wash your hands of them completely.
I can't believe some of the stuff they pull, Pat. I mean, I think I pay enough money to live here that I should be able to stay put for that last lousy week.
Oh well, maybe I'll miraculously find an apartment and it'll all be moot.
How's everything been going w/ you, stranger? I see you've been listening to some funky Potter music. Ahh, I'll finally be able to join the madness this summer when I get my ass in gear and finally read those damn books. I've got 1-5 ready to go! Aren't you proud??
I am thrilled to hear you are reading the HP books. I don't know what it is about them specifically, but I just love them.
Things have been going pretty well for me. I've been working on the podcast in a lot of my free time. I've also been working on losing some weight.
I've lost 23 lbs over the last 3 months. Another 12 to go to reach my initial goal.
I am starting a new part time schedule at work this week to regain some sanity. I will be working Mon-Wed and have Thur-Sun off. I am planning on using this time in the summer to focus on things I've been wanting to read or study and possibly take an online class or two in the fall.
In general, my life is boring compared to all you hip youngsters. :)
Pat, congrats on your weight loss! That's really great!!
If you take a couple courses in your off time, what are you thinking about checking out? Anything in particular that's of interest to you at the moment??
I'm looking forward to my summer reading. I've got quite the box of books...it's just getting more and more packed. HP is at the top of my list though, after all the hooplah from you guys (though I'm a bit sad that I'll be giving up HP on my slew of uber popular phenomenons that I've managed to avoid, a la Star Wars, etc, etc).
Thanks on the weight loss, Nic. It was absolutely necessary and I feel so much healthier and better about myself.
I am not sure yet. I am hoping to spend some time soul searching a bit. If I start taking classes just for fun I might look into an Art History, World Geography or Appreciation of Jazz class. If I decide that I want to actually focus on getting a degree then I might take more "core" like classes.
The thought of getting a theatre degree is appealing. I also would consider teaching. There is also the stay at home dad possibility eventually.
I will spend a couple of months just reading, learning musicals that I really should know and that type of thing and try and get a handle on what I want my goals to be.
Bumping from the depths of page 3.
So...who has listened to the latest podcast yet?
OK, Mr. Disappears-for-months-on-end!!
I haven't had a chance to listen to the new podcast yet. I will sometime soon, promise!
And back to your previous post...sounds like a nice little break for you to do some soul searching. I think it takes a lot of courage to be able to assess where you are, and make an effort to shake things up. It's so easy to just say, "oh, I'd really like to do go take some classes and try something new out," but I think the vast majority of people just stay where they are (even if they're less than thrilled with their current job, etc)...or maybe that's just my family!
Not much new here. Sending out resumes and stuff...getting a bit nervous that nobody seems to be replying. I'd just feel good scoring an interview at this stage of the game. It's frustrating, because most places I'm applying are listed as being entry-level, 0-1 year experience (yet, still kind of interesting TV/Film/Theater related) but I'm getting nothing back. It's not as if I haven't done anything. Internships in entertainment, a couple summers working as an adminstrative assistant. What more do you want from a recent grad, people?!?!?
I don't how courageous it is as much as seeing all of my friends getting their Masters, becoming Doctors etc.
It's totally my issue, but at times I am starting to feel like I am the "dumb one" of my group and I've never been in that role before. I am the only one who can change that and I have to find ways to do that.
I figure the best way to start is to see if I just need to read books that I feel like I am "supposed" to have read. Maybe it's go to college. Maybe it's to start writing again.
I really don't know, but the only way to find out is to dive off the cliff, ya know?
What more do you want from a recent grad, people?!?!?
Cash. Lots and lots of cash.
Well, I think taking the initiative to dive off that cliff is commendable, Pat. Most people just wallow in the fact that they aren't thrilled with where they're at. You have to start somewhere, and if it's taking a few classes here and there to get you jump started, then great! It's all about baby-steps, my friend. They all add up. Even if you don't feel like you're somehow the odd one out of your circle of friends (which most likely isn't true beyond a piece of paper) you're willing to pony up and do something about it! It's so much better than just saying "this is what I've been dealt, so I might as well just suck it up."
Go, Pat!
