You just KNOW that Flo was a nasty girl...
Im sure Florence Jean Casteberry made 70s porn.
Oh yes. With Mel as her co-star.
I've recently finished watching Rhoda: Season One. It's still a great, great show our family had a lot of laughs.
I was approx twenty two years old when we first got it here in the UK, now as a 55.416666 year old it was all a little bizarre to see it again in a very nice sorta way.
Thank heaven for box sets.
(no age issues here kinda smiley)...
One of the STRANGEST shows I remember growing up was Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman. Did anyone watch that? We used to watch reruns of it when I was in college. It was best enjoyed under the influence of something...
I would LOVE to see an episode of that again to see if it was really as strange as I remember it.
I recently watched an episode of Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman on some website. Maybe it was hulu? But yes, it was even more bizarre than I remembered. And the production values were WAY below other shows of the era. It truly was a "WTF?" kind of show.
I was a huge fan of the 1960's Batman series, which aired on Nickelodeon when I was growing up. I never, ever picked up on the campiness aspect of it until much later. As a child, this was straight drama to me!
To this day, I want it on DVD.
(I am so annoyed that my original post didn't go through and have to retype it)
I decided to bump this thread rather than start a new one though this topic could, probably, fly on the Main Board.
Every now and again I'll decide to have an "athon" where I'll watch all my movies of a certain genre or in a series or whatever. Currently, I'm in the midst of a Superman one where I am watching all of my Superman DVDs. I've buzzed through all of the cartoon DVDs and just finished Lois & Clark season 1 last night. In the season finale Lex Luthor has Superman trapped in a Kryptonite cage and is taunting him as he prepares for his wedding to Lois. As he taunts Superman he is singing snippets of "Tonight" from West Side Story.
When I finished that episode I decided to watch the dvd of Moonlighting I'd received through Netflix rather than move on to L&C Season 2. In one of the episodes Maddy and David are searching for a piece of stolen art. When they think they've found it David starts to sing "Something's Coming" from West Side Story.
It just made me smile a bit. The show is so ingrained in our culture that television shows from two different decades made reference to it. Can anyone think of a tv show from this decade that did?

Mary Hartman was some groundbreaking TV- always causing controversy. It also lead to a sequel/spin off that was one of the funniest shows I've ever seen: Fernwood 2Night which was a nightly, thirty minute show that took the "Tonight" show format and re-imagined it as a local show filmed in Fernwood (Where MH was set) using a lot of the same characters as Mary Hartman. Martin Mull played the host. Truly amazing.
When I think of ground breaking, ahead-of-its-time television, the only series that comes to mind is Soap.

I've started watching Andy Griffith show. I feel bad for Opie when Andy thinks he's lying about the existence of Mister MacFeebee but Opie is really telling the truth.
No mention of MAUDE so far??
God'll get you for that, Walter.
I loved the Invaders.... a Quinn/Martin Production!
I was a big fan of Lois and Clark. I loooooved watching Get Smart re-runs on Nick and Nite, never missed them. Still one of my fav shows of all time.
What kind of architect was David Vincent?
The kind that fights aliens
Lois & Clark season 2 episode 1 - Jessica Hecht as a Daily Planet employee.
A brilliant show that never found an audience was The Powers That Be, a political comedy starring John Forsythe, Holland Taylor, Eve Gordon, David Hyde Pierce, Valerie Mahaffey, and Jonathan Gordon-Levitt.
Anyone remember "Hail to the Chief" with Patti Duke as the first female President?
I'm watching an episode of Moonlighting and Judd Nelson and Whoopi Goldberg are guest starring
After hearing about the new The A Team movie that's going to be coming out next year, I looked into some of the clips on Youtube, and the show is pretty funny! I especially like Howling Mad Murdock!
Land of the Giants and The Invaders.
The original A-Team is very funny. The chemistry between the four leads was great. They meshed so well.
