Oh my GOD! I was just watching TV and saw that Jojo gets to be in a movie with Kristin Chenoweth! Jojo- Joanna- is from my hometown and I know her (and loathe her). She's always had an ego the size of a small country and now she gets to be in a movie with one of my idols!?!?? Excuse me as I go sulk...
Yes I am jealous but wouldn't you be?
Hah that movie, R.V., was filming in my hometown this summer. That and Brad Pitt's movie took over our city...and the summer before it was Brokeback Mountain. (If you want a glimpse of where I love, check out that movie. I haven't seen it yet but I hear it captures the landscape beautifully).

In my school's One-Act production of Hamlet, I was cast as the ghost.
YAY!
...I'm so nervous, I hate Shakespeare.
It's for a play competition--and my school always does really well in it...so I have to really do my best--which I will.

Congrats Parksy! I love the ghost. Totally the best part. Besides Polonius(sp?) I love him too. Wow. I'm a dork.
I'm sorry Drama! That sucks!

Congrats Parks!
Speaking of school plays I need some advice...
Should I do my best friend's school's production of How To Succeed in Business (it's an all boys school and girls from anywhere can try out) and just that (rehearsals every night) or should I do The Wizard of Oz with my school and You're A Good Man Charlie Brown.
My drawbacks are my mom will only let me do H2$ if I get Rosemary b/c the school is half an hour away and would mean a lot of driving but I love the show. I have a good shot at Dorothy at my school because, frankly, few people can hold a tune but my school shows are notoriously awful and stressful. And I'm hoping for Lucy in YAGMCB but the director put me in the ensemble for the show I'm in now but the musical director likes me a lot... What are your thoughts?

Do whatever you want to do! If one show is pulling you more than another then you should follow your heart and audition. It doesn't matter if your school shows are bad as long as you enjoy doing them. I'm sure you'll do amazing in whatever show(s) you choose to do and i wish you loads of luck.

The ability to repel guys apparently. That should be useful...
Oy.

were all about helping people not repelling them. I'm sure you don't repel guys and at your age it shouldn't be your concern. Think about school and focus on enjoying yourself whilst you're young. I'm sure, in time, you'll find someone who you can truely connect with and when that time comes you'll know. At 13 though you shouldn't be worried about repelling guys as guys!

i've gone from having loads of uni work, lectures and seminars, little shop rehearsels and performances, lifeguarding, teaching and coaching to nothing! I quit my job the other day because they kept calling me in telling me i was working then moaning because they hadn't told me. I told them my balls weren't crystal and handed my notice in there and then. There's loads of lifeguarding jobs about though so i'm not worried but i decided to have a couple of weeks to chill... why did i do that?
that sounds about right. this is my first total day off in over a month i think. i'm so enjoying it.

Makes sense to me. You wouldn't want to snap on some little child while they were swimming and drown them or anything, would you now?
