"The Price Is Right" needs a host, and Rosie O'Donnell is interested. Very interested. The 45-year-old said on her blog recently that she was meeting with the "Price" people this week and that she "sure would" accept the job if they offer.

"I LOVE THE PRICE IS RIGHT," she wrote, the capitalization underscoring her feelings.

CBS and FremantleMedia North America, which produces the hit game show, have been seeking a replacement for the venerable Bob Barker, who retired this month after 35 years as the show's host.

Among those reportedly in the running are Todd Newton of the E! network, Mark Steines of "Entertainment Tonight," George Hamilton and John O'Hurley. But Barker said O'Donnell is his pick.

"She knows the show," he said backstage at Friday's Daytime Emmy Awards. "There's no doubt in my mind she could do the show. Now, whether they want a lady host, I don't know. I've never heard that discussed. As far as I know, they've only auditioned men."
CBS and FremantleMedia had no comment Tuesday.

O'Donnell's spokeswoman, Cindi Berger, was not specific about the ex-"View" commentator's plans: "Rosie is meeting with several networks about a lot of different ideas."

God, I hope not.

I really want her girl friend to dump her, take the kids, and cause Rosie to have a breakdown and go away.

While I can not stand Rosie I think she'd be best to take over the show because I think with anyone else, it'll die. The Price is Right is a television institution like SNL. No matter how bad it is it needs to remain and unfortunately I think Rosie is the only one that will keep it afloat. But, I feel horrible for the people that are gonna have to work with her. NIGHTMARE!!

I think a big problem is that people don't realize that the Rosie that would host The Price is Right is not the Rosie that hosted The View. Think about The Rosie O Donnell Show. Until Tom Selleck Rosie wasn't that outspoken. She has said on her blog, her job on The View was to share her view. Her job on The Price is Right would be to host the show, which I think she would do perfectly.

I wouldn't mind Rosie doing it, but I'd rather see her on a show where she can talk and express her opinions.

I really don't think it will happen...I can't see Rosie moving her entire family to LA, or the entire show moving to NYC.

Rosie already has a home in LA. People pick up and move across country every day. It ain't that big of a deal.

Her kids are in school here, her families lives are here.

And yes, it is a big deal. People jump of buildings every day, but I wouldn't count on Rosie doing so. Family is a big thing for her - part of the reason she initially only wanted 1 year at THE VIEW was so she could focus on her family. Picking them all up and moving to LA (no Broadway!) doesn't seem like something I can imagine Rosie doing at this time.

CBS would move that show to her in a heartbeat.

Rosie the hottest commodity in daytime television.

Shows have moved from CA to NY a few times. A recent example is that show Hope and Faith. They moved the entire production here for Kelly Rippa.

I think it is a great switch for her. It is regular people and it has nothing to do with anything she has done before.

I don't understand all these haters.. I swear why bother? If you really have all that energy, you should start trying to find dates or focus on real politics. It's so weird, I don't go to Ann Coulter's page and rant to her. Or any page for that matter, and she is in politics.

Rosie annoys the crap out of me. At least on a game show her fat mouth would be somewhat in check.

Rosie doesn't have a home in LA. She has one in Miami, outside NYC, and an apartment in NYC.
She has said if they asked her to do it, she would go out to LA and it would be fine because they shoot TPIR in blocks, so the time commitment wouldn't be horrible.

Of course, my choice is Harvey Fierstein or Bruce Vilanch for the new Price is Right host. I even heard a local radio show host pick Arsenio Hall for the job.I just Pray they don't change the look or image of Price is Right. I love the orange, browns, and yellows and the 70's retro look of the show. I also love that snappy 70's music they use. When Jay Leno took over for the Tonight Show they made it so hip. I know that was the idea to make it Jay's show and not jkeep it Johnny's, but still the Price is Right is different. I hope Rosie will keep the the same old feel of the show.

Just look at those color schemes and those awsome sets! PLEASE, don't go changin'!!!

She annoys me too, Taz. Having her on a game show won't stop her fat mouth. In fact, her mouth is what we'll hear for most of the hour!

I think she's great, and would love if the other rumors of her and Ross the Intern doing a show together. She'd give Ellen a run for her money...love them both, and Ross is sweet and funny and deserves a great paying gig.
