SM2, as far as I know, nobody died. People just started doing it that way and it seemed to work.

What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?

If you were recuperating in a hospital, who would you want in the bed next to you, excluding relatives?
A vegetarian. In fact, just over the past weekend I was at a party and the group I was standing with began discussing degrees of redness when cooking steak and that alone made me queasy. Being trapped in a bed, basically forced to smell and watch – just yuck.

What has given you the most pleasure in the last year?
Participating in the migrants’ rights movement -- but one event in particular -- in those large marches that happened last Spring; here in Phoenix we turned out over 250,000 people—– it was awesome thing to be present for, describing it is futile there was an energy that one had to feel, and that I brought my oldest son with me.

What's something that we would be surprised to learn about you?
I was a Nirvana fan long before they were ‘discovered’ – somewhere deep in my hellish garage I may even have some a old cassettes version of Bleach from an underground record shop I can’t recall the name of anymore. Anyway that's not the surprising part; the day Kurt died and I heard the announcement on the radio -- I had to pull the car over because I literally cried, sobbed even, until I had no tears left.. Oh and I am painfully shy.

If your house were on fire, what material possessions would you grab on the way out?
The obvious-- family pictures, scrapbooks, etc…also the Harry Potter books…I have bequeathed them to my oldest son upon his departure for college.

What Inspires You?
I have found and felt inspiration in every detail of life at different points, but I suppose seeing/feeling compassion practiced keeps me going when I feel my well running dry.

If you can spend 1 day with 1 person (dead or alive) who would it be and what would you talk about?
Alice Paul we’d discuss as much as I could squeeze in.

If you were putting together a scrapbook of your life..what would be in it?

Many photos of kids, friends, and my beloved desert

re: Message Board Celebrity Of The Day 5/21/07 - RadiGal2

and assorted knickknacks from the brats, first outfits, teeth, strands of hair -- a very frayed and holey Amnesty Internal tee-shirt – bought as a freshman in high school at the 4th Avenue Street Fair— my visitors badge from the Minuteman camp. More recently additions would be my honor cords

Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh, and this just in: "Pettiness, spite, malice ....Such ugly emotions... So sad." - After Eight, talking about MEEEEEEEE!!! I'm so honored! :-)

If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?

What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try?

What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given?

If you could be anyone you wanted today, who would you be, and what would you do?

congrats, rad. on to the questions...

aliens that look suspiciously like alan funt are threatening to blow up the earth. our weapons have proved useless. negotiators sent to try to reason with them were returned with the skin inside out (kinda like the first experience with the teleporter in galaxy quest). they say that the only way to stave off the destruction of the planet is for you to have unprotected intercourse with dubya. what three arguments do you use to try to convince them that this is a terrible idea? if your arguments all fail, do you do the dubster and save the planet or do we all become cosmic dust? if you do him, what position or positions do you prefer for this hellish coupling?

What led you to Broadway World?

There is a shorter answer to this…but in the interest of full disclosure and truthfulness I will give you the extended version. When I reconnected myself to the internet after a 6 year hiatus from it…oh to be sure internet addiction was a very real problem back in late 90’s for me… so during the end of the marriage and even after the divorce I refused to reconnect it at home. When I went back to ASU I realized there was no way around it so – spent the first six months just getting familiar with all sorts of new gizmos and gadgets that are now available (Google Scholar -- Oh My!) and then completing the 2006 campaign cycle—which pretty much sucked me dry and left me frustrated, lost and well wandering…

Over Christmas that I really started using the internet for entertainment again—and since I have always loved musicals and New York City -- it did not take me too long to find this message board…and then it took me many weeks to actually register and post for a lot of reasons…and I am quite glad that I did, turned out to be by far the correct decision.

If we asked an important person in your life to describe you, what would he or she say? How accurate would it be?
If you ask any of my kiddies they will all tell you that my bark is much worse than my bite. Damn brats. I would deny it until I am blue in the face alas, I am ashamed to say they would be quite accurate.

What’s something that you’ve never done, but have always wanted to try? Bungee jumping.

What’s the last great gift that you gave someone? And, that you were given? Oh, I give very clever gifts -- but one of the best things I ever came up with was for my ex-husband's wife -- for her first Mother’s Day after their daughter was born I bought her a picnic basket and filled it with all my carefully selected dishes, glasses, napkins, and utensils.

The last best gift -- well, I believe from my best friend she gave me a spa treatment afterwards we are to meet at the hotel bar for drinks and movie tickets for the both of us for the art house theater. Our schedules keep us both hopping -- (I know, I know this is going to sound so sappy, but it's no less true) our time together is what we have been missing since I went back to school and the most valuable commodity we have to give one another.

If you could be anyone you wanted today, who would you be, and what would you do? I have no interest in being anyone else besides me.

I think the three most robust arguments I could offer the aliens would be:
1.) But, I am Catholic – suicide is not an option for me.
2.) But, but ...I voted for McCain in 2000.
((Can it be an exaggeration? I live in Arizona therefore in some cosmic way I am a de facto McCain supporter . I actually voted for Bradley))
3.) I get pregnant if a man looks at me sideways and therefore I could only presume that the spawn from such an unlikely coupling would not be some mutant life form – or the antichrist—either way not a good thing for anyone.

Obviously the common good would win out over my own personal distaste for the male organ and that individual in particular…but grit my teeth for humanity and all that.

Seriously. Even jokingly it’s just ick.
.nasty.. gross..
but fine ---
Doggy-Style in the very dark cell like room, because god knows I could not look at him and would never, ever want to visualize his face in a state of concupiscence ever again. Eeww

RADI!!! I was hoping your day would come! Yay!

Since you like Cabaret/Alan Cumming, here goes ...

1) Favorite Alan role [besides Cabaret]?

2) Favorite song/scene from Cabaret? Least favorite?

3) If you could be any character from the show [male or female], who would it be and why? [minor/smaller characters count, too]

and finally...

4) If you had to choose one song [doesn't have to be from a musical] to describe your personality/general statement on life, what would it be?

What would be your perfect day?

I was dreading this question –because, I really don’t believe perfection exists in any form -- that said my idea of a very good day would include mi hijas - spending some time in desert down in Southern Arizona – a few cold Dos Equis in Nogales – followed by a nice dinner with stimulating company in Tucson at El Parador –dropping the kids off with Grandpa and Grandpa and meeting up with some old friend at Bob Dobbs to relive the glory days of old and lastly a long stroll around the UA campus.

Thank you ww —it’s been such fun!

***

1) Favorite Alan role [besides Cabaret]?

I’ve never had the opportunity to see him live on stage… therefore I am sadly limited to his movies which as we both know can go very well or badly wrong….. but I did think he was sublime at Mr. Elton in Emma – the movie just sucked completely…but fortunately he might well be the only guy who has ever captured the true nature of an Austen self-ingratiating, narcissistic, opportunistic foil.

And although I have a deep loathing for the L Word and all things related to it…I did watch the episodes when he guest starred as Billie – although the writing was typically bad and at times his portrayal was often way over the top and seemed to be demented non German version of the Emcee lacking t the subtlety -- there were enough moments when he took control of the character and demonstrated such a painful vulnerability that I could forgive the rest….as much as I like to disregard these performances – he really did a fantastic job in my opinion.

2) Favorite song/scene from Cabaret? Least favorite?

“I don’t care much” is my favorite song as performed by Alan (although the lyrics just leave me cold when I read them) but my favorite scene is Two Ladies – cracks me up…I adore both the stage and movie versions – kind of love the raunchy edge Marshall brought to it.. but one cannot deny the unique twistedness and more subtle edginess of the Fosse version of the song.

I’ve said it before but it bear repeating Marshall is like a quick and dirty one sight stand and Fosse like a long comfortable screw – both have merit. Both are essential. But utterly incomparable…..
Currently I am vetting choreographers for my kids floor routine and believe me when I tell you if they can’t articulate the difference between their styles (she is hellbent using All that Jazz or something from Chicago) they aren’t getting the job

“Tomorrow belongs to me” is my least favorite song/scene – it just leaves me feeling as hopeless as I did upon finishing MAUS or Night for the first time – it’s hard to divorce myself from the reality that for nearly a decade – it truly did belong to them and the consequential devastation they wreaked.

3) If you could be any character from the show [male or female], who would it be and why? [minor/smaller characters count, too]

I would have to say the Emcee, for a number of reasons like the Emcee who seems to know all and direct the flow of events onstage -- I’ve been told more than once that I know more than I should and manipulate events to my benefit—and yes I see things others don’t until it smacks them on the nose. I currently don’t have the sexual energy to pull off the character at the moment however I doubt that will continue for too much longer – I suspect sooner rather than later I will return to the world the social and reclaim my previously very sexual and androgynous nature.

and finally...

4) If you had to choose one song [doesn't have to be from a musical] to describe your personality/general statement on life, what would it be?

To describe my personality -- this is tricky...this is not exactly how I see myself but the way I feel because so many people depend on me for keep them centered and this sums up the role I play to pretty much everyone in my life.

Kryptonite – 3 Doors Down.

Well, I took a walk around the world to
Ease my troubled mind
I left my body laying somewhere
In the sands of time
But, I watched the world float to the dark
Side of the moon
I feel there is nothing I can do, yeah

I watched the world float to the
Dark side of the moon
After all I knew it had to be something
To do with you
I really don't mind what happens now and then
As long as you'll be my friend at the end

Chorus:
If I go crazy then will you still
Call me Superman
If I'm alive and well, will you be
There a-holding my hand
I'll keep you by my side with
My superhuman might
Kryptonite

You called me strong, you called me weak
But still your secrets I will keep
You took for granted all the times I
Never let you down
You stumbled in and bumped your head, if
Not for me then you would be dead
I picked you up and put you back
On solid ground

Chorus

If I go crazy then will you still
Call me Superman
If I'm alive and well will you be
There holding my hand
I'll keep you by my side with my
Superhuman might
Kryptonite! Yeah!

My General Philosophy on life/love/family

Change The World

If I can reach the stars,
Pull one down for you,
Shine it on my heart
So you could see the truth:
That this love I have inside
Is everything it seems.
But for now I find
It's only in my dreams.
And I can change the world,
I will be the sunlight in your universe.
You would think my love was really something good,
Baby if I could change the world.
And if I could be king,
Even for a day,
I'd take you as my queen;
I'd have it no other way.
And our love would rule
This kingdom we had made.
Till then I'd be a fool,
Wishing for the day...
That I can change the world,
I would be the sunlight in your universe.
You would think my love was really something good,
Baby if I could change the world.
Baby if I could change the world.
I could change the world,
I would be the sunlight in your universe.
You would think my love was really something good,
Baby if I could change the world.
Baby if I could change the world.
Baby if I could change the world.

Ready, Radi? Here are my random questions (sorry I'm late):

- Have you ever "fooled around" in a publice place? If yes, where?

- If you weren't yourself, who on BWW would you like to be?

- What is your middle name?

- When was the last time you were involved in a fistfight?

- What would you rather drink at a party: beer, wine tequila, soda?

- If your life were a movie, would it be a comedy, action-adventure, horror, or porno?

- What is the worst/most embarrassing job that you have ever held?

- What is your favorite type of cuisine?

- Who on BWW do you think is the biggest flirt?

- Who on BWW would you most like to go on a date with?

- If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

And last, but not least...

- Do you think that size matters?

hehe pushing the envelope again I see SM2.

Have you ever "fooled around" in a public place? If yes, where? Yup. Movie theater, parking lot, in a bar, and once in the 2nd row of a van before my ex was my hubby I jerked him off with a jacket resting over his lap and his folks sitting in the front seats -- that was twisted.

If you weren't yourself, who on BWW would you like to be? Can't really answer this as I have not met anyone in person, and I rather like being myself these days...took me 37 years to really become content and appreciate with who I am, therefore not in any rush to give that up.

What is your middle name?
Marie -- for the record I was born 4 months before Lisa Marie Presley, alas did me no good whatsoever because there was always at least one other Lisa Marie among my peers.

When was the last time you were involved in a fistfight?
1989

What would you rather drink at a party: beer, wine tequila, soda?
Depends on whether I have the kids at the party with me...if yes then soda..if not then beer and lots of it.

If your life were a movie, would it be a comedy, action-adventure, horror, or porno?
Comedy.

What is the worst/most embarrassing job that you have ever held? Worst job -- was maintenance inspector, is extremely unnerving to wander into a person's house for example, I once found two infants unattended. Most embarrassing -- once when I was very broke I stripped for about a minute....during the first lap dance I looked at the guy and said...I'm genuinely sorry, but I truly am too good for this sort of behavior.

What is your favorite type of cuisine?
Ice Cream

Who on BWW do you think is the biggest flirt?
Sniff -- nobody flirts with me...

Who on BWW would you most like to go on a date with?
Without a doubt that would be Boobs -- just a platonic date of course, but I just know we would have a damn fine night and a lot of laughs. Now if we are talking about a real 'date' with all the implications of chemistry and sexual tension then that would be Rath.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
Repair my dyslexia.

And last, but not least...

Do you think that size matters?
Sure -- of course it matters a whole lot!
... In fact I am currently in the market for a new tailored suit I'm a size 1/2 in fine apparel for anyone that wants to drop buy Barney's and help an activist out-- oh and my shoe size about 7 or 7 1/2.
