He outsmarted himself ( relatively easy)
By putting it in the Best Picture running instead of Best Documentary, he doomed himself. Looks like he has had his 15 minutes of fame

Michael Moore will be around for a very long time. He is already working on a documentary on HMO's. And he already has had years of fame.

He thought he would've won. Atleast he dried.
(And he's more famous than us, so I'm really not that angry)

Until he does something else idiotic. How long until F911-2?
While I agree with (most) of his views on President Bush, I cannot stand Mr. Moore.

Timote;
I respect your opinion. But for Mr Roxy to say that his 15 minutes of fame were up is ignorant.
"Looks like he has had his 15 minutes of fame"
Ha! Are you for real? He's more popular and in demand than ever. F9/11 is the most successful Documentary of all time, grossing in the neighborhood of $150 million. I don't think he has anything to worry about.
I work at a pharmaceutical company. Moore's next "project" is trying to ruin all the pharma co.'s. I've seen his "techniques" firsthand - he really is an ass. And what has surprised me is that he's actually pretty stupid.
Indirectly. For a time he was giving lectures, and he would actually give out the number for our media relations div. and tell people to call and say "Michael Moore is in your building." There are great stories of what happened next: "Which building?" "uhhh...." Many, many differing and hilarious stories.
No kidding.

Rath;
Your girl maureen is on Extra right now.
Maybe all the pharmaceutical companies should be ruined. Or at least held accountable for their actions (and their prices).
AHHHHHH! It's over here!! What is she doing, what is she saying, is she just gorgeous??

They covered the opening. Said the show recieved mixed to negative reviews. And they showed her arriving at some paty.
When pharmaceutical companies lose the incentive to bring new drugs to market who will suffer? I am personally happy that Michael Moore did not get an Oscar nomination.
Michael Moore will not disappear. It does not matter if Fahrenheit 911 was truth or lies. It made us think. It created dissent in an election year which would otherwise have had none. Moore is working on a film called Sicko in which he will put the health care industry on trial. Moore has guts and no fear. http://www.jimcolyer.com

Mr. Coyler, due to the intelligence exhibited in your previous post, the committee has decided to overlook the fact that it was not in question form.
15 minutes of fame I dissagree, Michael Moore has a wide variety of documentary films out there. F911-2 is coming out in 2007. he's won at cannes 2 times. he's the most prominant documentary film maker out there. he has made the documentary film something normal people go to see.
Like him or dislike him, no one can dispute Moore's effectiveness.
He might have been nominated if Kerry had won.
I HAVE SAID THIS A MILLION TIMES AND I WILL SAY IT AGAIN: Moore DID NOT keep F/911 out of the Best Doc category in some vain attempt to get a Best Picture nod. He did it because he wanted to air it on TV before the election--a violation of the Best Doc category's rules. A film can be nominated for both a Best Doc and Best Pic OR Best Animated Film and Best Pic OR as has happened many times, Best Foreign Film and Best Pic.
well, thirdrow, I am glad that Passion didn't get any major nominations--so it's a wash.

"He might have been nominated if Kerry had won."
There are some who would argue that at least part of the reason Kerry didn't win is because of him.
The problem I have with Michael Moore is that he has such valid points and sound arguments, yet he discounts them by sensationalizing the story and not showing the other point of view. Unfortunately, people connect his anti-Bush rhetoric with the Democrat platform, which may have cost Kerry many votes, and polarized him even though he never officially endorsed the film. Though I despise Bush and everything that he stands for, I cannot support Moore and the people who take what he says as gospel. There are two sides to every story, and a true documentary should be based on facts and not showing one extremely biased and exaggerated point of view.

'Thank God I never recorded it.'
The most sense you've made in a long time, dear Jim.
"But if I recorded it, he might have won. Oh no!"
As in, oh no how stupid of me to think that would have been the outcome!
