Definitely a great episode this week. I especially liked the moment between Jay and Manny near the end. I was having a bit of an emotional day, and when Manny told Jay that it was the first time he had called him his son I admit I got just a teensy bit misty-eyed.
Though I think the Halloween episode was still pretty hilarious, with all the mispronunciations/misquoted idioms.
Interesting: Repubicans love "Modern Family"; Democrats favor "Dexter."

I was having a bad day, but watching the show tonight made me feel so much better. Sofia deserves an Emmy and Golden Globe next year.

I love her. She is so funny and I love her and Ed together.
Maybe my favorite Gloria moment ever is when she shoots at the float Manny's on and he screams. Her response: “Come on Manny. I could have unbuttoned your shirt if I wanted to.”

Also, who doesn't want to be at the Dunphys for Second Christmas and Italian Accent Night?

"We made our Daddy cry!"
"You called me Daddy!"
"That's because you're our Daddy!"
Seriously, this show gets better every week. SO. FUNNY.
Great episode this week. I've been enjoying Luke lately.
Luke has been AMAZING lately. That kid can do more with one line . . .
Like I said earlier in this thread - Luke is the big surprise of this season. Last year Manny stood out head and shoulders over the other kids, but Luke has been killing it every time out this season. (Although, to be fair, my favorite moment of the entire first season was Luke with Phil's noise reduction headphones)

Last night was as good as the best episodes they've ever done. They are definitely back in full stride.

Haley's also really stepped up her game.
And can I just say that Dylan kills me.
This episode was perfection. It's rare that everyone in the cast and the writers are in such top form, week after week.
It's only season two, but this is feeling like it could be one of those perfect sitcoms that happen once or twice in a generation.
I know it's early in what should be a long run, but this show is pretty flawless. Perfectly cast, perfect ensemble acting. It's a remarkable blend of wit and physical humor, and it uses kids as real kids, without making them props or nuisances. It would have been soooo easy for these kids to be one-dimensional, but they're not. It's a unique combination of writing, directing, and acting.
I'm fully aware that art is subjective. I know taste is subjective. I just cannot wrap my mind around how anyone could watch this show and NOT find it funny. Sure, some jokes may be better than others, but there hasn't been a single episode yet that I haven't laughed at - in most cases laughed many times and loudly.
As was stated, the writing, casting, and acting are pretty flawless. What's NOT to like?
"Dad, that was a stop sign."
"Well, I'll stop twice on the way back."

OK, so time to fess up...that exchange has happened in my car.
Wow, another terrific episode.
Anytime I get to see Jami Gertz, I'm happy. But the star of that episode was Luke.

James Marsden was a great guest star. The whole episode was great. This is the funniest show on television.
I can't remember the last time I literally laughed out loud at a television show so hard....Luke KILLED me last night
