To a point, Trainspotting sort of diturbed me. It was the first movie I really ever saw that you could see the injection of drugs...and a drugged up dead infant and all..........so after that movie I was pretty much ready to barf..but then I got the okay to watch other movies and realized that Trainspotting is the least of ANYONE's worries

I was about to mention Requiem for a Dream, I generally tend to steer clear of Disturbing films but I saw it. Great film, but I was torn up for a week.

I stand corrected, you are as vapid as they say.

When I was younger, Clockwork Orange was considered "beyond the pail" for me. Now, it's fairly tame.

SG, if I remember correctly, you don't see it. I think you see Norton raise his knee and then the camera pans to Fairuza Balk and you just hear it, but OMG that sound gives me goosebumps.

shameless- That somehow makes it worse. I think the most disturbing aspect of American History X, though, is the fact that there may actually be people like that in the world with nothing but hatred and malice. Truth is always scarier than anything.

Yeah, how about that needle scene in pulp fiction? maybe the whole film can't be classified as disturbing tut that needle scene is pretty rough!

Nothing tops ANATOMY OF HELL....nothing. Except maybe the documentary SICK, a great film about a masochistic artist with cystic fibrosis.

I love movies like Double Indemnity, A Place in the Sun, and so on, in which the characters do horrible things to others... yet have a legitimate motivation. Makes for interesting conversation.

Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me really has a powerful affect on me. The way Lynch uses obtuse imagery in place of overt references to the abuse Sheryl Lee's character suffered is really disturbing and sometimes frustrating. Sheryl is also really terrific and heartbreaking in it.
