Anybody know the details of this? Advocate.com has some info, and twitter also, but I was just wondering if anyone knows more.

I'm surprised that it's getting picked up by national media. Nick says they didn't let him in because he's gay and they say they didn't let him in because he was wearing a white t-shirt. Now, what I don't understand is why any gay man anywhere is wearing a white t-shirt. Unless you're entering a wet t-shirt contest it's a little out of place.

Well, it's Nick Adams, so he was probably wearing a white t-shirt and had his friends ready to douse him with water as soon as there was a camera on him.
What?! So his solution to the problem would be to fire the bouncer?! Jeez, I would think a public apology from the guy would be enough, what a queen.

He knew this other group of men was straight how? Seems like he was stereotyping. Firing the guy is outrageous for something you THINK he did.
Maybe the straight guys had some iphone app alerting everyone else around them that they were straight.
I WISH these were the problems I had time to write about. Interesting squabble over very little. I like the person who posted the comment about narcissistic personality disorder. That made me laugh.
Edit: The bars website is playing "Ladies Nite" by Kool and the Gang and has photos of skanks dancing on tables. Why the hell was he trying to go to this dump? lol It honestly looks like a breeder nightmare.

He's just pissed because they let in Mario Lopez instead of him.
I've always hated that restaurant.

Who does she think she is, Skip Gates? This is reminding me of the Mrs Roxy sneakers incident.
I still think it's sad if he really was turned away for being gay, but I agree that asking for the guy to be fired is a bit much.
Who is Nick Adams?

Cindy's gay son, I think. Only in New York, kids, only in New York.
Well, shirtless is his norm, so a white t was high class.
That bouncer should be fired. Though, if it was just a personal hatred for Nick Adams, then I guess it is justified :P
Does his sexiness upset you?
Does it come as a surprise
That he dances like he's got diamonds
At the meeting of his thighs?
Rise, Nick Adams. Rise. Our Rosa Parks. Rise.
^^ Was Rosa Parks famous for being shirtless all the time too? If so, they need to add that into the history books too!
Rumor is the whole thing was staged. Nick is out of work and no one cares about his upcoming one-nighter at Birdland in August.
And who's the b/f? Although I am sure he will have a new one by the time of his show.
He's keeping the bf a secret per his tweets.
Why does Nick Adams think he is God?
"They messed with the wrong guy."? Ok.
I agree, this is obviously effed up but he annoys the crap out of me. No one knows who the hell he is; he needs to calm his sh*t and get his ego in check.

It seems so short a time ago that he was being fawned over.

This faggot never fawned over him. He's not really the type that does it for me. I did take his side when Mario Lopez made him cover his arms, though, even if he was out when I saw ACL.
I read that blog and it really does seem like the restaurant tried to make amends, but he's not having it, which is of course his prerogative. It just reeks of being outraged for the sage of being outraged.
It's like when Oprah got turned away from the Coach store because it was closed and she threw a fit on National TV, except it's not Oprah it's Nick Adams and the only domain he holds power over is gym bunny Chelsea queens. That will make this bar close down. Im counting the days. Maybe he is a little narcissistic like the one poster on his website said.
Neither did this one, Phyllis. Nor do I really have anything against him, either.
Maybe the bar did turn him away because he was gay. I don't know. I wasn't there, and I've never been to that place. But that so many commenters on his blog are all ready to bring out the pitchforks based on that one post irritates me.
New York bars turn people away for what they're wearing all the time. A friend of mine got turned away from a gay bar recently for wearing sneakers. And sometimes bouncers look the other way on rules like that for regulars or people they know. It happens.
To automatically jump to the conclusion of homophobia here, though, dilutes the very real instances of homophobia that are out there. Are there other people who have been turned from this place because they are gay? Does it have a history? If so, then this is a story, but until then, it's a single-source complaint by someone fortunate enough to have a small following.
This just reminds me of the incident a few months ago when a young blogger accused the very gay-friendly Corner Bistro of homophobia, saying he was attacked by an employee. He posted it on whatever outlet he worked for, and people were immediately up in arms. Turned out that he had sauntered into the place at a peak time with his friends, plopped himself down at a table ahead of a lengthy line of other people waiting and demanded service. When asked to move, he choked the employee, who then fought back.
