ABC Is saying every passenger got off and that they suspect the pilot landed in the Hudson on purpose.

I know it's their job, but the courage of rescue workers in situations like this never ceases to amaze me. Angels on this Earth.

Bravo! I can't imagine how scary that would be, but I'm glad the pilot handled it so well.

Once more, flying showing us why it is the safest way of traveling. In the worst case scenarios, these trained professionals know exactly what to do. Amazing.

it's amazing that the pilot didn't crash into any of the hundreds of high rises on both sides of the narrow Hudson River.
Latest is that everyone has been evacuated - they haven't done a head count yet...

It sounds as though it was a pretty controlled descent.
As Jane pointed out, the pilot is a hero!

My sister and her family were sitting on the runway when the plane went down. She called to tell met that it wasn't her flight and that the pilot mentioned geese.

how can you people be so callous? those geese were minding their own business when a huge man-mad evessel that really has no business encroaching on their habitat viciously attacked them and brutally killed several of them! if stupid people would realize that if god wanted them to fly he'd have given them wings and stay on the ground where they belong these beautiful creatures would not be destroyed in tragic incidents like this. and don't even get me started on the ecological ramifications of jet aircraft.

I was about to buy tickets to get on that exact flight to N.C. earlier this week. And changed my mind last minute.
Scary, scary, scary. Thank God everyone seems to be okay.

They are showing footage of the passengers now...and yes they seem to look wet!

Another amazing thing is that from the time of impact, to the time of rescue, not even an hour had elapsed. I believe the plane went down at about 3:30 and they were at safety by 4:15.

Yes, I saw a picture where it did look as though they were in the water, but I could quite make it out. They looked to be standing in the water.

I can't imagine how scary that would be seeing that river coming closer and closer...It really is incredible that it all seems to have turned out ok.
