I know the point was made already, but I feel the need to say it again: Where were all these brilliant ideas BEFORE November 4th?

Thanks TheatreDiva! I am off tomorrow and plan on spending my day making phone calls.I have been making my list all weekend and am still adding to it. I also plan of emailing a dozen or so different companies as well. I encourage everyone to do all they can.
Trekkie2, I hear where you are coming from but I honestly thought prop 8 would not pass. I knew it would be close but I did not think it would win.I really think the Mormons have a strong chance of losing their 501-3 (c) title and this will piss them off as much as we are pissed off so things are about to get VERY shaky.

Yeah, I'm wondering about a couple of names on the boycott list. Any info on what American Express and Jetblue did?

You are not wrong in your observation, but I've just tried to suck it up, you know?
A few months ago I was all about boycotting Heinz for kowtowing to pressure about a commercial they had in the UK where two men kissed! You would have thought I'd proposed outlawing gym memberships or something! Someone even dumped me over it.
Then I saw his ass at the protest last night. All of this isn't just about Prop 8, it isn't just about gay marriage, it ISN'T about who didn't stand up for whom and when - it's about people who are willing to stand up and say "Enough!"
Well, that's how I'm seeing it. Your mileage may vary.
(And your gym memberships are safe)

Take Marriott off the list.
The Facts About Marriott and California's Proposition 8
How is American Express a "Mormon-owned business"? Because its CFO is a Mormon? The company itself has a good record in terms of contributing to the gay community as well as treatment of its gay employees.
I mean, I may have missed something about its involvement, but let's not turn this into a "single drop of Mormon blood" thing here.

Back when I had a Dell I could only read the screen if I were wearing magical peepstones. Does that count?
I always wondered why my gay porno sites were never accessible on my Dell.

As someone who a few months back was scoffed at for trying to organize what I actually thought was a credible boycott (where an actual company pulled an actual ad that featured actual men kissing because actual bigots complained), I think this is completely over the top.
There are much more productive things to be doing than boycotting places tinged with Morman employees and advocating staying home from work.

I AM HEREBY BOYCOTTING ALL OF PHYLLIS'S THREADS!
Jetblue is a very gay friendly airline. And while it's owner does have Mormon roots, it's not really fair to bash JetBlue because of it. JetBlue has contributed much to GLBT causes, and just because someone is mormon doens't mean they are anti gay anymore so then saying someone is christian or catholic means they are anti-gay.
I'm not boycotting Jetblue as a political statement, I'm boycotting them b/c they suck as an airline.
For those of you in LA, here’s another supporter of Prop 8. Damn shame, too, I really loved their food.

Subject: Yes On 8 Support
Dear Marjorie –
I cannot tell you how disappointed I am to learn that you financially supported the "Yes on 8" initiative. Your family and business have benefited financially thanks to the support of the gay community. I have personally spent thousands of dollars at El Coyote, but now plan to boycott your restaurant and tell everyone I know about your support to ban equal rights and gay marriage.
Sincerely,
Tom Dunlap
BOYCOTT EL COYOTE CAFE!
PLEASE SPREAD THE WORD: El Coyote's management, MARJORIE CHRISTOFFERSEN, contributed to the "Yes on 8" campaign which SUPPORTS the ban of marriage equality in the state of California.

I only flew them once. I liked the little tvs at each seat.
I've flew JetBlue a handful of times and every time it was a great flight. They offer a nonstop Sacramento to New York flight that is wonderful. The TV sets are great for passing the time and for anxious flyers who aren't fond of flying.
I've had far better flights with jetblue then with southwest or American airlines.
I guess it's not really fair of me to compare them to the service I get on my private jet.
