Any fans out there of this fabulous singer? Saw her Harem World tour in Cleveland last week and thought it was incredible. Was at Gund Arena where the Cavs play. She was in great voice, performed from 8:15 till 10:30 with a 20 min. break. The audience ate it up and would have easily sat there another 2 hours. Updated On: 2/17/04 at 12:50 AM
Sarah Brightman is so exciting. You dont know what incredibly hight note she'll belt out next! I love listening to her in the Phantom of Opera, especially at the end of the title song. And her original music is so crazy that its thrilling. My friend and I are addicted to her solo album and everytime we play the play station game Kareoke Revolution, I go under the name SarahBrightm and he goes under Haremchild.
Was the Gund blocked off at all? That seemed like a big hall for that sort of show unless Brightman draws a lot more than I think she might.

I had the misfortune of seeing Sarah Brightman in the original cast of PHANTOM OF THE OUTHOUSE and thought she was dreadful. Not only did she look like a raccoon, but she had an overbite so big it could be used for a snow shovel and--to make matters worse--she sang through her sinuses. However, the material she was performaing that night was worthy of her talents.
Have you seen the skit on her in Forbidden Broadway.
Diane English is back in the show and she does it best.
It is one of the best skits and makes everyone roar with laughter.

Raccoons are adorable! Though occasionally rabid.
I went to an Andrea Bocelli Concert and Ms. Brightman was there. She performed a few songs with him. I thought her enchanting. So what is wrong with overbites?
She just did an arena in Rochester...
I was amazed to hear that she'd had a career upsurgence.
I say bravo to anyone who is successful.
i lover her voice!

I like her as well. I LOVE her hair! "Half A Moment" is my favorite SB song.
And there's nothing wrong with having an over or an under bite.

When a performer is making the money that Sarah Brightman is, there's no excuse for having an overbite so pronounced it could be mistaken for a cow-catcher on a locomotive! We all know the money she made in her divorce settlement from ALW.

And if you start messing with the shape of your mouth/nose, you might mess up your "sound". Not worth it if your a singer.
I told the dentist who wanted to break my jaw in two places so I would be "even" that I could speak and be understood, I dang sure had no problem eating and I didn't notice anyone running down the road shrieking in terror when I entered a room so leave the darn thing ALONE.
SB is a very lovely lady. As is.

She opens her mouth too wide when she sings. I believe one day her mouth is going to freeze like that.

Does Sarah Brightman have a "sound" worth preserving?
redmustang-
your so lucky to have seen her! I wanted to see her Harem concert but I couldn't go.
I also love listening to her & Michael on the Phantom soundtrack.
Poor Sarah. She can be a guilty pleasure.
Saw her in the Anne Crumb role in a dreary (setless) nat'l company of ASPECTS OF LOVE, and she was far better as a narcissistic bitch than attempting an igenue PHANTOM. And I must say, her performance of "Pie Jesu" on the otherwise uninteresting REQUIEM recording is a favorite. (Anyone else?) And her album of songs that got away, or whatever the title, is quite lovely. She does "...un bel sogno di doretto..." from Puccini's RONDINE just about perfectly on that. And if you're in a Europ pop mood, she and Boccelli make you bill and coo on "Con Te Partiro." But I find her excursion into New Age camp -- these strange tours with John Tesh-in-Vegas trappings -- odd. Guess she sells out, though.

Ah, the "Pie Jesu" you refer to is ripped off from the stunning work in Faure's "Requiem". Give a listen and you'll agree that Faure beat Lloyd Webber to this one.
It blows my mind she has become so popular. I think she sounds like a kitten lost in a wind tunnel.
I sang the Faure Requiem and found very few similarities with the Lloyd Webber Pie Jesu. It's just a couple of notes which could be found in hundreds of works. Just like the Music of the Night/Come to Me/School Days debate.
Funny that people say 'Music of the Night' sounds like either 'Come To Me, Bend To Me' or 'School Days' but I've never heard someone say 'Come To Me, Bend To Me' and 'School Days' sound alike when talking about songs that sound similar.
I thought the same thing. Everyone's so quick to blame Lloyd Webber for stealing music, but not Loewe. It's just four notes! Where do we even begin with songs that end in DO DO TI DO? How many lawsuits do you think that would require?
Everyone steals. "No One Is Alone" from INTO THE WOODS sounds exactly like "The Candy Man" in Willy Wonka. "..Sometimes people leave you..." "Who can make the sun..." I get tired of the Andrew bashing. And since Sarah is an ex-Mrs.-Andrew, she gets part of the baggage, or is perhaps a chunk of it.
But though I admire much of Mr. Webber, the main point about touting Sarah's "Jesu" is how it stands apart from he rest of the Req, which is pretty dreary.
