This is easily misinterpreted. At a glance it looks like - based on the title of the thread - that Charlie messaged Nicole saying “You are terrific” and that Nicole wrote back “Jusr doing my part my MAGA brother.”

In reality Charlie (the racist!) told a black guy he was terrific, and the black guy (clearly a self-racist!) called Charlie his MAGA brother.

Nicole liked the black guy’s post.

Who cares what people like.

Your post scored a glorious own goal for the anti-Charlie team, as it demonstrates that Charlie wasn’t a racist at all, and that he has the support of a black person.

All told, I think the clear conservative supporters on Broadway are the tip of the iceberg. Any others are laying low as they know they’d be cancelled. We should cancel everyone now for safety. Any unintended leftist losses via the wholesale cancellation will be for the greater good, and they’ll understand their sacrifice.

Well, Nicole has the tony now so she doesn’t need any of you. You can go after Chenoweth, you can go after Nicole but you really should be looking inward and really be going after yourselves because you do not understand the war that has been started. Especially now that, according to the BBC, the shooter’s partner was transgender so this in combination with all other details (the shooter according to the BBC suggesting that Charlie Kirk was full of hate and spread hate, the Bullet casing saying hey, fascist catch! The anti-fascist lyrics) is making the motive more and more likely to be extreme left wing ideologically motivated terrorism and to suggest otherwise defies logic and reason.

This is an October the 7th situation right now - in this metaphor Hamas has committed a terrorist attack. If you want to avoid Gaza you need to be acknowledging this, distancing yourself from this and being reasonable (obviously I acknowledge it's not quite the same scale and severity but for analogy sake).

If you think the appropriate response is to start or continue a war with the right, including being antagonistic by celebrating this death, you will likely suffer negative consequences from the inevitable backlash. Please. You cannot win this battle. You can’t win this. It’s only going to make it worse please just stop.

As I have been describing for years, sometimes you have to concede, you have to put the weapons down and now is that time. You will not win this and you are putting lives at risk by contributing to this culture. There is no way you can win against the metaphorical Israel in this analogy. If you try like Hamas, Gaza self destruction is assured.

Or that I am “starting” a war by holding someone accountable. The only person who “started” any kind of “war” was Kirk, with his bigoted, inflammatory, hateful rhetoric.

Who is even talking about the shooters’ motivations or ideologies? This isn’t about that. It’s about whitewashing Charlie Kirk’s legacy.

I am not necessarily talking about you as an individual, I’m talking about the cultural construct that many here are part of and contributing. Which you have just exposed in your own post. If you say the ‘only person’ who started a war is the person who was a victim of a terrorist attack, you’re implying that the fact he was gunned down for expressing his views is simply part and parcel of his own behaviour and that he had it coming for the reasons you suggest. You are not taking any accountability.

But the problem you have is, if you look at what is happening online and in the statements of right wing leaders, this isn’t going to just go away. People will be held accountable. The ideology that led to this is going to be challenged in the most authoritarian and combative ways. This is the war I am referring to. Meanwhile reasonable every day people, trans people, gay people are all going to be caught in the crossfire which is not fair. They just want to live their lives not be involved in this violence.

Abcd12, I think I can agree on much of what you’ve said (as always I do think the summary of his positions or who he was is not 100% accurate but I absolutely accept he was a conservative Christian whose views would be intolerable to many).

And no one has to mourn Charlie Kirk’s death or agree with his views. But you should be shocked and horrified that someone has been killed for expressing their first amendment right. If someone says ‘the only person’ that started this war is the person who was a victim of a terrorist attack then it’s clear that there is extremism going on this thread and there is no shock or horrified reaction to this attack on free speech - which is extremely fringe and goes against practically every single left wing and democrat leader.


This is exactly what Hamas would say if they were criticised for October the 7th ‘the only person who started this war was Israel because of their oppression’. Or what the Charlie Hebdo attackers would say ‘the only person who started this war was the people who printed hateful things’ (ie blasphemy).

Terrorism is not ok and it’s not ok now. In terms of ‘what is coming for you’ - are you not paying attention to what is happening on the right? Do you really only look at information that seeks to reinforce your own views? Look at Elon Musk’s twitter feed if you want to see where this is headed. Just as Israel responded to the October the 7th attack ‘the right’ are preparing to come down hard. We can only hope that there will not be more violence, but I predict an extreme authoritarian response and some violence. Do you really think starting a battle with ‘the right’ who have guns, loads of guns, and who act in ways you suggest are authoritarian and fascist, is going to end well for you? The best thing anyone can do right now for the left wing cause is to protect freedom of speech and to try and get Gavin Newsom into office. That should be your number 1 goal, not going after people who were shocked at Kirk’s death or openly supporting his death as too many are.
