"I hated the way Mia Farrow portrayed you in The Great Gatsby. She did you a disservice. Same goes for Mira Sorvino."
Oh, darling, that's Daisy BUCHANAN. I'm the one with ESP who can make flowers grow! (And I liked Mia!)

"I don't know if I'd vote vote either of them as the worst of the year, but might seriously consider them both for most overhyped - KING KONG and BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN were only great in what they registered in the minds of those who needed them to represent something. On their own, they are seriously flawed and negligible wastes of time."
I'm in complete agreement with you, DG. BROKEBACK is marginally better than the shoddily-made KING KONG due to its performances. But for me, there were several severe flaws in BROKEBACK that left me disappointed overall. First off, its muted emotional atmosphere was a trifle too muted for my taste. I would have expected there to be a greater tension and conflict in the buildup leading up to their first sexual encounter. As it stands, the characters' passion in the tent scene seems unmotivated and a tad silly. Next, what kept these guys for twenty years besides fishing and f*****g? We learn nothing about the dynamic between them that is essential to any love story. What about this relationship would cause the Heath Ledger character (Ennis?) to finally break open emotionally as he does? Why Gyllenhall? It's never established or dramatized. Finally, the whole movie is as retro as any Douglas Sirk movie from the 50's and brings to mind the line from THE BOYS IN THE BAND that I've quoted in my previous review of BROKEBACK: "Show me a happy homosexual and I'll show you a dead corpse." I think MAKING LOVE got there first and, in some ways, did it better.

Flowery- that one has Daisy DUKE!
Now let's get this straight:
Daisy Gamble - Barbara Harris/Barbra Streisand
Daisy Buchanan - Mia Farrow
Daisy Duke - Catherine Bach/Jessica Simpson
Daisy Clover - Natalie Wood
Daisy Mae - Edith Adams/Leslie Parrish
I was suggesting that DOH (appropriate acronym) was the worst film of 2005 (and possibly all time).
"Alone in the Dark" with Tara Reid.
I usually make allowances for horror films, but this one was just BAD...and Tara gave the worst performance I have ever seen on film!

King Kong was worse.

It captures the essence of the film perfectly. 'Nuff said.

I think this film, while slightly disturbing, sounds interesting.
