Babs looks fantastic and I hope this shuts everyone up who says she looks too old for GYPSY.
Babs is starting to show her age both physically and vocally. STILL, the COMMAND in her voice that she has is still there. I love how she was overwhelmed by the audience response...
Yes Barbra was struggling......but all-in-all it was nice to see her.
Mick was awesome - no less energetic than he was in the 60's!!!!

I thought Barbra looked good too- from the shoulders up. I didn't love the dress and I also thought she sounded a bit weak. I'm not a fan of all the vocal gymnastics. However, I'm a big fan and always will be and would see her in Gypsy!
oh, agree! It was wonderful to see Babs!
She suffers from such stagefright - it's no wonder there were some shakes.
But, brava to her for being there!
My mom was actually surprised that Barbara agreed to perform. She said that she heard somewhere that she gets horrible stage fright.
Gimme Mick! He rocked.

Barbra walked through that. Sad. And at nearly 70, she's far too old for GYPSY.
Mick looked and sounded great! Dancing across the stage like he was in his 30's. I'm convinced Mick will be doing what he is doing well into his 80's.
Yes- and I think this stage fright is even more evident when she knows she will be thoroughly scrutinized after each performance. I was surprised that she agreed to perform live but she did it! I think tghe audience really respected that.
I finally saw the Cee-Lo and Gwyneth's performance. That really brought a smile to my face from the turkey costume meets Grace Jones and Elton John to the muppets. I thought both of them sounded great together.
The looks Marc Anthony and JLo were giving the camera trying to make out the teleprompter was pretty funny.
After hearing Babs tonight, I was wondering if her voice is up to the Gypsy score. I guess maybe in the studio.

Am I the only person who enjoyed Katy's performance? I mean, compared to what she usually sounds like, that was a pretty good performance. I love that song though--she sounded pretty close to what the album sounds like.
I enjoyed Katy. I love that song. She has sounded better the past 2 times I heard her live.
I really thought GaGa would have taken that last award.
I had wanted Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, or Lady Antebellum to take Album of the Year. I am surprised neither of them did.
I listened to country every day and the only song I heard off of the Lady Antebellum cd was "Need You Now" I figured it was the only song on the CD. But I saw their wins coming a mile away. Figured they wouldn't get the top prize.
And again my choice for album of the year wins! Grammys, you are surprising me.
I enjoyed this Grammy Award show so much. Mick Jagger can still rock the house. Legend. I hope the Grammy's wins an Emmy award.
I think the problem with Eminem and rap is that the Grammy people do not see rap as being musical; therefore, Eminem and others are not going to win in the "top" categories. Antebellum won Record and Song because you can actually sing the song! Gaga and Perry's songs are frothy and forgettable 10 minutes after you heard them.
Re Barbra, there are two issues: she was scared to death and her hair/outfit were ****. Why wear a huge gown and have all that hair under hot lights on the stage? In all fairness, her vocals reeked of "I am scared and get me out of here!" so I do not think you can judge her vocals based on that. She tried and needs gay stylists to tie her up and make her over. If and when she does GYPSY she will be fine.
Streisand looked and sounded awful. Though it doesn't bode well for Gypsy, I wouldn't write her off just yet. With the right amount of magic in makeup, lighting, special effects, and the recording studio, she could still pull it off.
I thought Streisand looked great. She was a little tentative, which I put down to nerves, but she's still a specatacular singer, IMO.

I thought Streisand looked great from the neck up - that dress was horrific. I did think she sounded better than she has in years. Was very impressed with her live performance.
I did think she looked amazing at the MusicCares tribute on Friday night. I do think she is ready for her close-up in Gypsy. She doesn't look anything near 70 and I think with some movie magic, she will pull it off. I just hope she has a very strong director who will reign in her "Streisand-isms."
