It's not that I think I'm ugly, it's just that I'm like... surrounded by gorgeousness. heh.

Dancinqueen, what are you aiming for on the ACT?

Eh, it won't make a difference how many hot girls there are. All the guys are gay. For god's sake, your sports mascot is the Violets.

I don't really know. Probably somewhere around a 25 or a 26. I haven't even taken the test yet and my mom thinks that this will be good for me.

LOL, skittles! You're so right. My poor dating prospects! re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight

Dancinqueen, it's probably not such a bad idea. I took the SAT once without studying and while I did well, I improved my math score by 50 points after studying a bit. Studying for the SAT or ACT is boring, but you'll never have to worry about it again after a year or so.

The course is already over. It was only a 2 day thing which really confused me. Shouldn't it be longer than just 3 hours for 2 days?

Well... I don't know. Maybe they figured that they can pack a lot of information into those six hours. I'm sure you're probably aware of this, but there are a lot of ACT prep books available if you're interested in studying some more.

DancinQueen, greatest signature ever re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight

Hey Elphie!

I was never thrilled with the emphasis put on both the ACT and SAT (and given the chance to do it again, I'd take the ACT, not the SAT). A test is just a test. To me there are far more consistent and better judgements of your success in college: gpa/classes taken in high school, recommendations, etc. Just my two cents. But as SD said, this time next year it won't matter at all!

They gave us a bunch of books and I am planning on studying some more from those books. They gave us practice tests and stuff like that.

All right I'm going to sleep. Tomorrow at my school is color day. Each class wears a different color, except last year they banned it because the seniors started throwing egggs at freshmen and stuff. Tomorrow is supposed to be "Spirit Day", but no one is going to do that. Everyone I know is dressing up in their color. I hate our principal.

For as much as I didn't like taking the SAT, I support the emphasis on SAT/ACT scores with regards to college admissions. Maybe I'm biased because I did pretty well on them, but I would so much rather see colleges value SAT scores over GPA. My friend goes to the private school in town and their courses are significantly easier than ours. They barely even have to raise a finger in order to obtain an A in most of their classes. Meanwhile, I generally have to put in at least some effort in my classes to earn an A. There needs to be some sort of standard for comparison. The SAT/ACT isn't fully indicative of intelligence or potential, but in many cases, I think it is a lot more so than GPA or how many extracurricular activities one participates in.

My whole head is pounding. I'm pretty sure my sinuses are filled up seeing as how there's pressure around my eyes and nose. Grr. I think I'm going to go to bed now. Goodnight everyone.

One word of advice - if this is a cold or flu, don't go overboard on the stuff that just treats the symptoms. Symptoms are your body's way of getting rid of the virus, and when you suppress them too much, it takes longer to get well. On the other hand, if you have to get certain things done, sometimes that's the only way.

Amen to that Chloe.

I'm baking snickerdoodle cookies right now...didn't want to study, pack, or do homework. How sad. I think I have a problem...We'll see, I wasn't so impressed with how it turned out pre-putting them in the oven.

Holy crap. These cookies took over the oven...and I thought the chocolate chip cookies were big! Updated On: 3/9/06 at 11:50 PM

It's not my fault. We went out to eat tonight, so dinner didn't do it for my cooking itch.

I friended like everyone I met in the first few weeks of freshman year, and now I realize that I don't know who the f**k half of my Facebook friends are :-/

The weirdest part of facebook for me was seeing people and realizing I have no idea what their bodies looked like. When you're only familiar with someone's head for sooo long, it's really strange to see the rest of them.

Hee. That's why I try to use full-body pics for my Facebook profile whenever possible (well, that, and I recognize that my body is nicer than my face :-P)

Eh, it won't make a difference how many hot girls there are. All the guys are gay. For god's sake, your sports mascot is the Violets.

So true. I'm surrounded by ridiculously good-looking boys who only have eyes for each other re: The Official Adam Pascal Love Thread, part eight

I'm probably the only person who actually enjoyed taking those standardized tests. My brother is taking an SAT prep course now and is pretty miserable about it.

Snickerdoodles is a great name, but I have no idea what's in them.
