Thanks, QM.
I guess some people (certain adults) love to drag up tons of cliquey things and talk only to the other long-time members. To me that takes some of the fun away- new people can bring interesting points to the conversation. I'm getting a bit tired of the lack of acceptance of anyone who's been here for less than a year.
Emcee, you are a legend- one of the few people who's unconditionally kind to everyone on this site.
Allie, not a huge fan of the song but Adam does well with it...mmm...
Unconditionally kind. Yet... sometimes, I wonder why. I am in person, too... *shrugs*
Chloe - 'tis a real, legitimate addiction. *nods*
ETA - the ONLY reason I own that soundtrack is for Adam. "Heal Me..." is a pretty bad song IMO, but he sings it beautifully.

QM~ no offense taken.. Yes I am still a newbie, but I also lurked for a long time.. I have no problems with newbies, unless they act like morons.. Maybe it's just me.. I'm still a bit ashamed of the fact that I became a legend so wuickly..
Thanks Allie.. I'm working diligently on chapter two.. well sort of..
Addiction is right! But I'm really glad to be getting to know you all, and this thread has to be the nicest on the board.
On the director's commentary for SoR he talks about how Adam really nailed "Heal Me, I'm Heartsick" at the audition and makes it work for the movie. They didn't want a really great song for this and wrote a sort of mediocre one so as not to overshadow the School of Rock band, but Adam's performance makes it believable that his band won the contest.
Me? A real legend? *feels honored*
How many songs does he sing on the soundtrack?

What else do they say about Adam on the commentary?
I also love how he sang 'Fight' (is that the title?). I'm not crazy with either songs, but love how he sang them.
Chloe - I like the new avatar a lot. Very nice!
I do think that some of the old-timers act ridiculously sometimes, but for people who are just starting to participate, it's always good to hang back for a while and get a feel for the place first. And if one does lurk for a while (as I did) and feel through reading that one knows about some of the posters, it is still better to take it slow. Being over-friendly and over-assertive can backfire easily.

Two songs, Diva.
I adore the directors' commentary on SoR. The kids' one is also REALLY cute. They talk about going to see Adam in AIDA.
cam - work work WORK!
Yes, look at that Chloe. First she only popped up occasionally and now we can't shut her up
Cam, understood.

Alright, I'm convinced. My post-finals celebration shall be watching School of Rock. Wahoo, two more days!
**feels the crack of Em's whip and crawls away to write**
I can take a hint, I know when I'm not wanted..
Chloe is also the resident googler, so I - for one - am very, very happy.

I don't even remember becoming a legend... it just happened one day.
Chloe, we like you so it's ok.

I love watching movies with the commentary! Best part!
We love you, Chloe!

I would love to get inside his head and see the process of how he decides to take on certain songs. I've heard some of the cover he's done, and he always seems to know which materials to choose and how to make them work with his voice. If you're a professional singer, I guess you should be able to do this. But Adam hasn't made a wrong step so far.

*applauds Adam*
He really hasn't.

nia - they basically just talk about what he's done on B'way (at that point it was just OBC Rent and AIDA) and they say that when he auditioned, he came in and nailed the music. They talk about how much emotion he puts into that song, and how great he was to work with.
The kids say that he was a lot of fun to "rock out" with, or something to that affect, and that they saw him in AIDA. One of the kids is like "That's Adam... he's really cool. We saw him in A... A...Ai....." and another kid jumps in and goes "AIDA?"
::blushes:: Thanks guys!
I think the other mention of Adam in SoR was the director saying he'd made a mistake in changing Adam's look so drastically between the beginning and end of the movie. Some people didn't realize that he was the same person, and that the band that threw out Jack Black was the band that won the contest. Adam does look really different. The beginning is with the bad mullet and a sort of tough rocker vibe, and in the end he just seems like himself.
People ask all the time when they see that movie if it's the same guy, and if people are *supposed* to know that it is. They assume that I just got lucky in being able to tell because I knew who Adam was ahead of time. That said, I'm so glad the mullet didn't stay. *cringe*

Thanksy. Those kids sound cute. I'd rent it and watch it if my mom wouldn't think I was insane for getting it again.
Hey, IrishGirl.
'But Adam hasn't made a wrong step so far.'
He's only taken 'a step too far' so far.
QM
I'm an idiot who owns that movie... and bought it the DAY it came out. I got home from school and was like "MOM! SCHOOL OF ROCK. NOW!!!" since I didn't have my license yet.
Well done, QM.
