Alright, so I should have been asleep hours ago considering I have to wake up at 6 tomorrow, but I just got yelled at, again. My dad told me I needed an attitude change, and that from now on I don't get to see anymore shows. I don't know if he understands sometimes. I don't really think I've changed at all, except I've stopped lying about the few things I didn't like.
He was really mad that I didn't like Cats and wasn't in a rush to see Tarzan, but I don't understand. It's like, if I don't act enthusiastic about every single thing, then I need an "attitute change".
I'm just wondering how the heck I change myself? Do I just pretend to seem interested and positive when really I feel crummy on the inside?
But lets just say I'm very dissapointed right now.
My philosophy about Broadway is I'll see anything once, especially if the ticket is free...
At the very least Tarzan is sure to be a fairly big deal as the first Disney show to open in a while and if you see it you'll be able to reflect on and join the reviews and discussion knowledgeably. Plus, its sure to be a spectacle with impressive special effects...
And sometimes you end up liking things you never thought you would....
So maybe not change yourself...just put things into perspective?

E.T.A And I adored "I Love You Because"... Amanda, its my new religion.
i'm excited about Tarzan, especially since I heard at most of the action takes place in the air.
I'm excited about the hot guy that plays tarzan..
I'm not excited about the fact, disney will probably not have any discounts or rush tickets etc...
I'm excited for Tarzan for all the reasons mentioned(very much agreeing about Josh), but especially Jenn Gambatese! She's really talented and sweet, and I've missed her for a little while; I haven't seen her since Play on Broadway. She's gonna be great--so perfectly adorable for Jane!
There actually was a whole Spring Broadway Preview in my paper today, with a huge article about Tarzan. Apparently as stated a lot of us will take place in the air, but it will be quite obvious, they won't make efforts to make things invisible, the harnesses will all be there but utilized very much. Umm...the villain from the movie's gonna be more American and changed in some other ways. It has a strong cast and it is a cute story.
Aww, great to hear Cat. I'll let you know about me seeing it. It seems like really great things play at that theatre--Newsical was awesome!
They'll probably have discounts Cat unless it becomes a hit like the Lion King, but I doubt that. Not that it won't be a hit, but to that extent anyway.
Mary I'm confused...you can't see any more shows because of certain ones you didn't like or aren't excited about? Well, I'm not quite sure what the story is, but anyway, if you could have a calm discussion without getting worked up and such(even if your dad does), that's probably the best way to go. If you calmly explain yourself, even if it doesn't solve everything, it makes communicating a bit easier.
Yeah - ever, never...... It's been too long and I forget. Toujours?
Maybe it's just time we changed it to Thank you, love!
toujours sounds right...

DRS song (guess which one. one that I have never played yet.)
good?
When I was just a little girl, so young and innocent,
I'd kneel beside my little bed,
And say a prayer - I still remember, this is how it went
"Let me have love unending
Let me look good in shorts"
Now I am not a child and (mumble) years have passed
I'd say my miracle is due,
Yet I'm still searching, vainly lurching as the world spins round,
What is a woman, what is a woman to do?
Sounds like a good list, Dre! (Is it Give Them What They Want? or Ruffhausen?)
thanks.
you'll have to see.
Mamie, how did you know it off by heart?
The mumble sounds to me like 47...well definitely the seven, but 47 makes more sense than 37
Great job Mamie! That's one I don't think I can do.
I was flipping channels and I realized something--I did like it, and I loved the first one...it's so weird because I'm not used to being scared of movies...but something about Spiderman 2 scares me. I was just watching the scene where Alferd Molina gets into those arms and was getting freaked out--granted, the hospital scenes with the arms is genuinely creepy, but still. Looking back, I had very ambivalent feelings about the movie, and now I realize it had to do with being scared, or at least a little freaked out. Is it a stupid movie/aspect of the movie to get scared of? Just being controlled by arms and stuff and the idea of them never coming off...scary.
I love Apolo Anton Ohno.
Oh Annie, I don't get it. You said Hungary is not a good olympic team and won no medals, yet Austria was like top 5 in medals. I mean, you guys used to be part of the same country...so what's that about?

Ok...I'm off to work.
RPotD:
Not really exciting, but the picture I took of the Imperial on Saturday
That's a terrific picture, Mary. I saved it!
That little ditty of Muriel's are the most important words that character tells us about herself in the whole show. In fact, I can't think of anything similar for any of the other characters. They're almost all very one dimensional. In just a few lines we learn about Muriel as a child, always looking for love, never finding it, and still looking. These few lines give her character definition and make her very human.
As for remembering them - this has been the curse of my life. I have never been able to remember anything of any importance, but trivia sticks in my brain like it's carved in concrete!
d'aaaaw. i love you muriel.
well i've just pulled out my french-english dictionary that is about the size of my house...
"I love you forever" would be je t'aimerai toujours. (if i'm not mistaken)
uhh so we would be nous.... nous aimerai toujours.
or nous aimerai pour toujours.
i'm not sure. i haven't had a french class in 2 years and french club at school doesn't start until tomorrow.
oh, canada!
also, mary, i love the picture! and fathers can be SUCH a pain.
i think they just take everything personally. so if you don't like a show he took you to see, or aren't off the walls about a show you will be seeing, they feel like they've failed or done something wrong for not knowing their little girl better. maybe remind hiom of all the shows you DO love and how much you appreciate going to see them, and going to see them with him. (if you do go see them with your dad...) give him a hug. dad's love hugs.
that always works with mon pere. maybe it will with yours, too!
Meghan----Nous t'aimerons toujours.
Also, I just read the interview with John O'Hurley that's up on BWW. When asked what's next after Chicago he replied, "I’m talking to the people of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels to do that show." https://www.broadwayworld.com/viewcolumn.cfm?colid=7781
Is he next up after Pryce leaves? Is he Lawrence for the tour?
The floor is now open for rampant debate and rumor trading!!!
Nous t'aimerons toujours.
i though the t apostrophe showed that it was an "I" statement...like how "J'taime" means I love you but "J'aime" means I Love. ?
god i'm confused.
The apostrophe after je in "j'aime" is only because you can't have je in front of a verb starting with a vowel. The t' before the verb identifies the subject of the sentence. Of course, if the verb didn't start with a vowel the subject would be "te" as in "je te deteste"
So "I love you" is "je t'aime" or "je t'adore"
correct!
god, french club! why haven't you started yet! it's nearly march!
thanks liz
