I walked passed the Barrymore today and noticed the "Raul Esparza in Company," and figured I'd see the excitement here.

Was gonna just lurk, but yes, no matter who it is, if someone's name is above the title, you are entitled to a refund if they are out. And that goes for any one of multiple names.

Actually, that was the first thing I thought of when I saw that--wow, lots of people are going to be happy to get a refund if he is out.

But, good for him.

Yay, Raul's on top once again! To great talent...

To great talent...

Sarah's got skills. Although, I was wondering what a giant lemon was doing buulging out of Raul's lower abdomen range and if it was possibly a clandestine reference to Taboo. But I guess not...

This is the bottom half of it:

To great talent...

The top half is a thin, vertical marquee, with the cubes going top to bottom; it just says "COMPANY."

hey alll! wow, I can't believe I've never posted in here, as I totally and completely ADORE this man :P

but anyway, I found this quote yesterday in one of my message board friends' profiles on AIM, and I got like, THE most intense shivers ever. And I wasn't sure where to post it, but I just felt like I needed to share it with people, in light of sep 11th and everything, so I figured I'd post it here:
""After September 11th, which happened in the midst of our show really beginning to pick up, we started to do performances again. Our album came out on September 11th, and I kept receiving letters from people saying that they had gone to buy the album that morning, or I even got an email from somebody who said that he had been late to work at the Towers because he went to buy the album. And I went to St. Patrick's that afternoon to light a candle, and there was a cop standing on the steps of St. Patrick's who turned to me and said, 'You're in tick, tick...BOOM!' And he started to sing a song from the show, he started singing 'See her Smile' to me, on the steps of St. Patricks... A few days later, we went back to work and I thought, 'This is the stupidest thing. How can we be doing this? The city's burning. How can we do this? You could still smell it.' And some of us were going to volunteer after the theatre every night, I was going to volunteer at Chelsea Piers, and there were those kids, sitting in the front row. The second performance back the sound board blew, and just... huge, it sounded like a bomb. Everybody screamed in the theatre. I was playing the piano on the song 'Why.' I couldn't breathe. I just pushed the piano away from me and the band took over and I just sat in the chair, and sang it, tears streaming down my face, looking at all of these young kids, looking up at me. The city's just been blown up around them, and I'm singing about.... you've gotta go on. I know things are bad, but you've gotta go on. This is why we do this."
-Raul Esparza"

yeah.. just.. I nearly cried. Just reading it.

by the way I apoligize if it was already posted or something, I'm kinda too lazy and busy with school work to look through and see if its there haha

I think I posted that quote last year. He's so beautifully eloquent. If that makes you cry, you've got to hear the audio interview where that came from.

Ah, Em beat me to it. :) I really, really love that quote, and it's so appropriate. Hearing him talk about tick, tick... BOOM! at all is so touching, but especially in regards to what it meant to be performing that after 9/11. I agree with her that you might want to listen to the radio interview that quote is from, which is here:

jesus. I'm finally listening to the interview (the one with the ttB quote). Ok, so I've always loved him. But this like... far surpasses love. He. JUST may be one of the most incredible seeming people EVER. just. woah. I mean I knew he was like, unbelievably sweet, because I met him after Chitty (which was AMAZING cause it was previews and we'd been waiting for a while so there were like, only 5 other people there so we actually got to talk to him for a while! which, at the time I appreciated because I loved him in the show, but I didn't really know too much else about him. Now I REALLY appreciate that we got that oppurtunity hehe), but I seriously did NOT know he was that incredible just as a person.

oh, and can I just say that I adore listening to him talk as much as I love listening to anthony rapp talk.. hehe. Like, they both just have the SMOOTHEST most wonderful speaking voices! and the CUTEST giggles. hehehe
