I love those pictures. Mano in the yellow raincoat is too funny.
The Heathers?
*shrug* I don't know. :-/
Apparently my name in the plural form means something bad...I guess...
The raincoat reminds me of that fishermen commercial...for some food.

Heathers is a 1990 black comedy about bitchy high school girls who get murdered by another student and who end up turning on each other in order to survive. Christian Slater and Winona Ryder starred? Anyone?
Someone asked about Manoel's height and age, which seems perfectly acceptable. Another poster sniped at them unnecessarily as if their question was beneath this thread and it somehow disrupted the scintilating conversation about his raincoat. Ergo...the Heathers reference.
I get that everyone likes this guy and all...but c'mon, maybe detach a little bit and stop being so posessive? Okay so you met him a few times after the show and he sends you cute myspace e-mails....it's not like he has you saved as a contact in his cell phone or calls you and asks you to hang out with him. You don't *really* know him, you know the person he wants you to see. I have nothing against the guy and I think he's very talented, cute, all that...but, jeez...all the guy/girl did was ask a simple question. No need to be so overprotective about it. You're not his agent or publicist.
The only reason I responded the way in which I did was because Mano has never revealed his age in an interview. It's obviously something he doesn't want people to know and as such, it's not a question that anyone here would answer. As for his height....as someone (I think it was you, in fact) responded, that can be assumed from looking at pictures. I also don't walk around with a tape measure.
Not to get into this by any means, but Heathers is one of my favorite movies.
Lexi: I agree, the Arbiter should probably be older. I could see... a future Mano in the role? Heh. I'd like to hear his versions of The Arbiter and Story of Chess, but physically he's definitely not the first to come to mind.

I think I may have seen that movie.
Sorry if my comment was snarky...
I, personally, am not posessive of Mano in any way. He doesn't really seem to want to reveal his age. Though, many people have pointed himself that he does date himself.

"The only realize I responded the way in which I did was because Mano has never revealed his age in an interview. It's obviously something he doesn't want people to know and as such, it's not a question that anyone here would answer."
Then you say "You know, I'm not sure. He's kind of private about that." There's no need to give some snotty answer. He has revealed his age on Broadway.com. He's quoted as saying he's in his early 30's.
Fine. I should have said that.
Lexi, I really should listen to the Chess recording, seeing as how I have it. I always get so confused when you and SS have your Chess related conversations. Maybe I'll do that this weekend.
I remember reading somewhere that he was 5'10. I can't remember where though.
I'm sorry too. But to be honest, you've only been here a day, and I'm sure you'll realize as you continue to browse BWW that we're not saying it to be mean. It's just in a joking way, but people seem to misunderstand and assume we're being snooty. Which is understandable, I was scared of BWW when I first joined hehe. But we're really all a nice bunch, honest!
I'm sorry, Fantab! I kind of assume that people ignore us when we start babbling about Chess, but I really don't mean to be confusing.
Hah. No! Continue the chess chatter. It'll get me to finally listen to it one of these days.
The Chess chatter got me to listen to it and read a libretto. 'Twas good.
ColePorterSaidSo- If you're trying to get a rise out of us, it isn't going to work. It seems pretty obvious that you just came in and posted to bother us.
There is no possible way for you to join and after only reading a few posts on the thread, come to the conclusion that we're all posessive bitches. If this is the case, you've got some issues of your own to work out...
I'm assuming that you're someone who either already posts on BroadwayWorld, or someone who doesn't and wanted to join just to tell us off.

Sorry to jump page a few pages, but the idea of Mano as George...that would be Amazing! I'd Love to hear him sing Finishing the Hat.
You should, Fantab... if nothing else, the benefit concert has incredible performances. I'm glad we finally got to you, Rach!
Anyway, I'm not sure whether he's talked about this somewhere and I missed it, but does anyone know what musicals besides Sweeney and presumably other Sondheim shows Manoel likes? I know he's said there are only a few.

I have the Chess BC/EFA recording...never listened. I suck.
BC/EFA recording?
Mano's silly. I saw Doubt tonight with a close friend, and then we went to the Sweeney stage door 'cause she's visiting from out of town and didn't get to meet the cast when we saw the show together.
Not BC/EFA, I don't know, whatever there's a recording of I have lol.
ooh, I know which.

You guys should all be ashamed of yourselves for being possessive bitches, you Heathers! Don't you know you aren't allowed to comment with anything worse than a slightly snarky response? If you dare to like Fantabulous tried to, I'm gonna bring in another fresh BWW'er to whine at you!
Ya understand?! You are all maids trained from the cradle to find modesty and obedience the greatest of all virtues. I thought you would know better...
