I swear I've heard that before. Actually, I think that has been up on Equity for ages.
Just got the Twelfth Night cd. Raul's song practically knocked me to the ground. Bliss.
I'm pretty sure I've heard a version of that story before, but shorter and more concise, without all the random bits. And not in the present tense.
ETA: you're right, it was just copied intact from the AE website, and it IS old, they've got his old headshot with it.
How I got my equity card
Wait, so how can BWW be billing this as its new feature if they're just lifting stuff from the Equity site? It says it's "presented in association with" Equity, but other than another way to get these stories out and newly visible, that's kind of lame.

I got an e-mail notice that the HEM cd isn't going to be released until October!? Chrysanthemum - how did you order your copy? I obviously went through the wrong channels!

I think it's just to keep pushing equity. Like that whole thing in the playbills, "proud equity member".
Sorry Wonkit, I purchased mine at the Delacorte the other night.
Wonkit, the official release is indeed not going out until late Oct. Our speculation is that when it's released it will actually be fully packaged instead of just in the envelope with the track listing available at the Delacorte.
Weird indeed that BWW is repurposing old material!
I wonder if BWW even realizes just how old it is (betcha they don't!)

That old headshot boggles my mind. I always thought it looked more like Rupert Everett than it did Raul.
Every time I see that headshot I want to call him "Preppie".

Grrr. Why can't I remember how to post an image.
Never seen this before.

He is practically the same height as Raul now. Now I know Raul isn't exactly tall, but that just blows my mind.

Fun picture. Thanks for posting it.
I saw him recently at some event (maybe it was the Drama Desks?) and I had this moment of, oh my God, Henry Hodges is all grown up... and I felt so old.
On another note, that is a terrifying photo they chose for the thumbnail. So many GOOD options to pick from, and they went with that?
Vaguely off-topic, but this made me think of Raul and 25/8 (which still has no release date as far as I've seen):
LOL!! Y'know, somehow I think Raul would say that fits him perfectly.
Wes Craven said about two weeks ago that the picture was locked (meaning editing has been completed) and they are now turning their attention to music, sound design and VFX (visual effects). So there's definite progress, but I have a feeling we probably won't see it much before 2010. It still says 2009 on the IMDb page for the movie, but that hasn't been updated since March.
lol. But what about bloody horror musicals?
Really, I could so live without this movie. And I probably will, because enjoyment of sleep > curiosity.

I think I will wait to find out what braver members of this thread think about the movie before venturing out to it.
Wes Craven twittered yesterday:
"Just saw the studio's new trailer for #25/8...it rocks! Think STAND BY ME with knives!"
Um....no comment.
Oh ugh. I really, really don't think I can bear to see this. Maybe when it comes out on DVD so I can easily fast-forward though the gory parts...

Anyone have some good news for this thread??
Raul has been staying well under the radar lately, so there's not much of anything going on. I sure hope he's got something lined up for this winter. He hasn't gone a season without doing a show since....I don't think ever, since he came to New York.
Fingers crossed for some news about SOMEthing, and soon!

I don't know...I remember the break between The Normal Heart and Chitty seemed like an eternity. Though it might have only been a few months!
It was a while; The Normal Heart closed in... I think June of 2004, and Chitty didn't start performances until March of 2005. I want to see him back in something as much as anybody, but he does deserve a break.
I'll admit to being selfish - I wish he'd do Speed The Plow here in LA next March (same production, Neil Pepe directing). But that's not gonna happen.

And just when you think you're out there on your own, you see yourself in someone else's eyes. And if they told you you could never love yourself-it was a lie.
On House tonight, a patient was hospitalized for mercury poisoning and his excuse was "I've been eating a lot of sushi lately."
The doctor's response? "And you've been getting lukewarm reviews in Speed-The-Plow on Broadway?"
