The Ten Worst People on the Subway

Texing and walking down the stairs, texting and walking out of the train, texting and walking on the platform. Mutherfuquers can't get by life without their face all up in their smartphones. Dumbasses.

My sister once went over to one of those guys with his legs wide apart and said "C'mon,You can't be THAT big." He laughed and put his legs together so she could sit.

Just this morning one guy said "Excuse me" as we were waiting for the door to open. "Dude," I'm getting off too but I'm not transparent."

#2 and #3 are the worst! Basically I hate all tourists on the train!

Tourists who take pictures on the subway piss me off. The ones who literally take pictures OF YOU because they want to document their experience on the subway make me want to punch their kids.

I never understood eating on a train...You might as well be eating in a cesspool..

The sneezing..

The coughing..

The farting..

The B.O...

Ugh....

I find myself being so mean to tourists, I'm sure there's travel agencies all over the world with my picture and a ghostbusters sign over it.

Wexy, that is one of my biggest pet peeves! It's very popular on NJ Transit, too.

At metro stations in DC (and elsewhere) people on the escalator who don't know to stand on the right side if you are not going to actively walk down/up the escalator. STAND RIGHT, WALK LEFT!

The Ten Worst People on the Subway

I can't believe no one's mentioned the greatest scourge in NYC subway... the breakdancers. I've seen one group of them violently beat up a guy because he wasn't making room for their "showtime" - which he had absolutely no obligation to do. I'm amazed the MTA turns a blind eye to them.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.

I can't stand the people who lean against the pole.

Also, people who think they're the Subway Police. Yes, it's polite to get up and give your seat to an old/pregnant/injured rider, but I don't think there's any need for random riders to yell at people who don't give up their seats.
I know you. I know you. I know you.

No breakdancers in Chicago, but plenty of bucket pounders on the street - awful! NOT MUSIC!

LOL, it's true!!

As for people with lots of bags that sometimes take up extra seats, I don't usually mind that. I mean, as New Yorker's the subway is our way of transportation. If we have to go shopping, we don't have a car trunk to load all our stuff on. We're all "guilty" of having to do that occasionally so that's just one of those things we have to accept.

I've got to disagree with that, Jordan. My bags go on my lap or on the floor. I don't think anyone should be forced to stand so that someone's bag gets a seat.

The Ten Worst People on the Subway

I hate it when people get on the subway and then start making announcements on how they lost their jobs and are homeless and need money for a meal. I do think there are some people who are being honest, but I doubt they all are. Plus, I really don't want to hear about your drama when I'm trying to get somewhere.

I guess this also goes to just anyone on there who does not work for the MTA making loud announcements to the whole car whether is is about that or preaching or whatever other crazy stuff they have to say to a bunch of strangers.

I know what you mean, Reg. What I'm saying is that every so often if you go to Target or the grocery store or someplace and you have a LOT of bags, it's better to just put some in the seat than to spread them all out on the floor blocking even more people. It's rare when that happens but it does happen and it's just one of those things that happens when you need to take public transportation.

Last month, I was on the N train and one of those women came down passing out the Sign Language alphabet papers (the ones where she gives them out and then comes back for them if you don't want to buy it). I started signing to her asking her if she knew of some of the programs for the deaf offered by the city. Bitch looked at me and said "I don't sign".

I wanted to punch a ho.

Nothing makes my blood boil more than when the religious freaks start spewing their faith. STFU!

The pole people annoying me as well.

Thankfully I don't have to ride the Metro in DC much anymore since I started bicycle share 2 years ago.

The Ten Worst People on the Subway

On the #2 train downtown earlier today two women, both with strollers ( you know, the ones with three floors, a pool and a wet bar ) got on at 72nd Street and stopped in the door, refusing to budge. Two people were not able to get to another door to get on the train in time. At 42nd Street, they refused to move again, blocking a man with a suitcase ( you know, the kind that could double as a condo on wheels. ) Condo Suitcase Man, however, just pushed his way on, causing some of the most colorful language I've heard in a long time ( barring listening to myself.) I got off the train at 34th with them all still slinging insults back and forth at each other. I wish I'd filmed it. The Ten Worst People on the Subway
Cheyenne Jackson tickled me. AFTER ordering SoMMS a drink but NOT tickling him, and hanging out with Girly in his dressing room (where he DIDN'T tickle her) but BEFORE we got married. To others. And then he tweeted Boobs. He also tweeted he's good friends with some chick on "The Voice" who just happens to be good friends with Tink's ex. And I'm still married. Oh I LOVE people who do that, although I haven't seen it. Watching a younger, non handicapped person sit there while an injured, elderly, pregnant person is standing makes my blood boil. How rude! If I weren't afraid of being attacked I'd be a subway policeperson all the time!

Here's one that really bothers me, but it's kind of funny. I'm often offered someone's seat. hardy har har. Now, choronologically I'm kind of old, but physically I have the appearance about 20 years younger. I HATE WHEN THEY OFFER ME A SEAT! Especially when the one offering me the seat looks around 70 or more.

rant over, lol.

The goddamn breakdancer/acrobats/whatever they are, who INSIST you move so they can do their stupid flips and seem totally oblivious to the clear discomfort they are causing in the people they are centimeters away from kicking in the face.

I would love to see those assholes get sued. At least I don't risk grievous bodily harm when I'm in a car with a busker or panhandler.

Kad, during one of my most recent visits, one of these "acrobats" smacked his head right into one of the poles.
