Now the word is that she is supposed to hear back from both of this weekend's interviews tomorrow. If either of them offer her a position, she will take it. If not, she has a friend with a live-in position near by that could use some help. Either way, she will know somethimg tomorrow. My only issue with this is that I don't believe that she is telling the families that she is interviewing with the truth. Who is going to hire an au pair whose visa expires in three months? I think she is telling them her visa is good for a year. I would want to know if I was hiring someone who was going to be illegal in a few months. Oh well, I guess it isn't my problem.
I guess I will give you the update tomorrow.
I think she's bull****ting all the way around.

"I think she's bull****ting all the way around."
She totally is. And she's not going ANYWHERE unless she's forced.
I'd take everything she said with a grain of salt...the interviews, the other family members, etc. I feel for you and the family...you don't want to appear cold or heartless. And if you give her an ultimatum you feel like bastards. But she's totally taking advantage. If she were truly grateful she'd be working her ass off to show some appreciation...cleaning, asking PERMISSION to sit around on the computer and cook and come and go at will, while genuinely trying to find someplace else. She knows how good she has it, so why would she want to leave? The fact that she lied about the money says a lot.
Wellllll, I just got back to the house and she asked me if I could take her to the train station. I told her I could take her right now, but otherwise I would have to wait until after 7. She said she would just wait until 7. Apparently it is leaving. I am not holding my breath.

You have to come back and tell us if she really goes or not!!
I just read this entire thread (I might now be more invested in this story than in some of the new shows on tv, seriously)- please give an update as to if she finally leaves! Or at least let us know the next chapter in the saga.
*munches popcorn*
Another cliffhanger! This board's been suspenseful lately.
two words: freeloading beyotch.
She knows exactly what she's doing.
Good luck!
Sits and waits in antici . . . **say it, say it** . . . PATION
I think this is going to be dragged out like a daytime soap opera storyline.

dont let her switch babies on ya!!!!
Oh lawdy. Apparently some poor bastard hired the girl. One of her interviews gave her the position. They are putting this girl in charge of their 1, 3 and 6 year old children. Not sure when she starts, though.
More after dinner...lol.
Have you seen THE HAND THAT ROCKS THE CRADLE? The six-year-old girl in that is completely clueless.
We'll be back after this commercial break.

Anyone remember that classic SNL skit "The Thing That Wouldn't Leave" with John Belushi?
Blueroses, I never saw that.
wonderwaiter, that was priceless!!
She has yet to tell any of us when this new position starts. So, she's still here. She chose not to join us for our dinner of leftovers. I think she is being as inconspicuous as possible. If no one sees her, no one will ask her any questions.
She probably didn't get the job, or maybe those people are checking her references. I say, kick her to the curb.
oh Christ, get a taser gun, zap her, and roll her outside
And once you get her to the curb, kick her again for good measure!
heh. I wish. She really has been out of sight since yesterday. It just annoys me. I guess we will see what tomorrow holds.
I'm reminded of an old movie...."the Creature in the Basement" or something....
AND, after you kick her again, as wonder suggests, poor honey on her so the red ants can feast......
This is making me angry, and I don't even know her!
