Bugles! They are probably still around, and I don't know if I even spelled it right, but those things were SO good!
I'm so hungry right now.
Now I remember those!
And God, I hated Tang. Was I the only one who thought it still tasted like powder, even AFTER mixing it with water?
When I was little, I remember that Entenmann's used to make thesee double-chocolate cookies, they were really chewy and really chocolatey...but I haven't been able to find them in years. I really miss those.

Bottle caps & Zotz were still around circa halloween '06 in my neck of the woods.
I miss the Jolly Rancher sticks--peach, watermelon and cherry
I miss the plastic Nerd that Nerds used to come in
Ben & Jerry's used to make a peanut butter truffle ice cream that was awesome
And you can totally get Dunkaroos--at least in my hood.
Delaware Punch!
I used to still be able to find it in Central Market in Houston, but I've yet to find anywhere in the Northeast that sells it. Including the entire state of Delaware.

The item to which Rathnait62 is referring is SPACE FOOD STICKS. They resembled tootsie rolls, and came in several flavors. They were popualr in the late 60's/early 70's, when everyone was wrappped up in the Apollo moon landing missions.

Wise Potato Sticks were the best. A small bag was 10 cents, the large 19 cents. They were better than Durkee or any of the others.
Jello pudding pops.
Not a food, but when I was a kid, Hi-C made a juice called Ecto-Plasma or something like that with Slimer from Ghostbusters on it. Possibly the best drink EVER!!!
Also, Big League Chew. You can still find them in some candy stores, but they're rare.
ecto-cooler!!!
YES!! Ha ha. Ecto-plasma sounded a little harsh to me. Thank you for remembering.

"Jello pudding pops."
Yes!! I am so sad they don't make these any more. And the fruit-flavored Jello pops.

Funyons!
They probably still make them for all I know, but I haven't seen them in years.

best12bars, I love that your kid's frozen dinner cost 65 cents. Those were the days. And I also miss that purple price stamp on everything in the pre-bar code days.
Anyone else remember BB Bats? I used to get them from the corner store when I'd visit my grandma.

Yes, they still make them, but they aren't as good as they used to be. I had a bag a few months ago after several years of not eating them. Now they taste like styrofoam.
Scooter Pies, Fudgetown Cookies, and Gauchos (I think the peanut butter Girl Scout Cookies may be similar to Gauchos). I'm not sure if any of them were availble nationally, or if they were just East Coast items.
And, thanks to Namo, I just finished a 2 and 1/2 hour negotiation (that I was conducting), during which the
"Shake, Shake, Shake-a-Puddin'. Puddin'-Puddin', Shake-a-Puddin'" jingle ran through my head the entire time. Thanks - it's the most enjoyment I've had at work in a while - and I clearly need a new career!

My mother used to buy the nastiest candy called Goldenberg's peanut chews. She and her yenta friends would eat Entenmann's cake and those nasty chews during their canasta games. When she was dieting and didn't want us to know she was cheating, she even hid them in the freezer. You could crack a tooth on them. I thought they were disgusting!
my dad loves those, blue. we used to sell them at the movie theatre i managed but it would take months and months and months to sell them. they were bought by another company a few years back and are no longer "goldenberg's" peanut chews and they changed the wrapping.
on the plus side, they can still crack your teeth!

The worst tooth crackers were Mary Janes!

"The worst tooth crackers were Mary Janes!"
Mary Janes are supposed to be soft and chewy, in order to pull out the fillings you already have in your teeth. It's the nasty stores that leave them sitting around for months that cause them to become tooth crackers.
