The Court Jester! A funny idea, a jester...
Ms. P!!! I was wondering how you were.
Yes. I saw the Court Jester last night. Fun movie... I was totally weirded out in a couple of scenes, though.
Hey, GH!!!! DD, GH LOVES The Jester too!!!
What "weirded" you out, sweetie?
You have to admit the little people were quite strange.
The ending... when the "bad" guys are being moved up the stairs... it just looked weird.
Oh... the knighting scene was funny, but when the do the "rewind"... again, weird.
I also thought it was funny that every time he swings on the vine, he's on the same vine, you see the same "travel" shot, yet he winds up in 3 different locations. But that was funny.

What up, I am at the office for a little bit to pick up papers and prep for a hearing tomorrow.
Snowy and cold here. Busy weekend.
Hi brd,
Just came back from the gym. Staying in today. Some paper work to do and then I am going to pop in the movie Venus and then the sag awards. It rained a lot yesterday but it is gorgeous today.
Oh, but DD...that "fake rewinding" was completely intentional...that's why it was so funny. The whole thing is comical because it's parodying all those "grad sweeping epics" but being totally blatant about it. If you try to impose any kind of "realism" on it, you're missing the point!
I love the scene when Danny Kaye is the grandfather and Glynis Johns the deaf girl.
Ah! See... I did not have the bit of information - that it was a parody. I thought it was just another movie... now it seems much funnier. I can imagine in 40 years, someone watching the parody movies of today and not getting it.

"And Angela Lansbury is SO beautiful."
And talented. And classy. And graceful. And gracious. And inteligent. And funny.
Ok, I'll stop now
She is all those things, yes. But for some reason it seems to me that Hollywood didn't really exploit her looks - seems to me being key here - and she WAS beautiful.
Ya know, I thought that maybe I didn't want to see DEUCE because I wanted to remember Angela on the stage as I saw her way back when, but then I came to my sense and ordered tickets!!!!
DD, you can see all the strings suspending the acrobats in the woods. There is no effort to hide them or even make it look fake! I love that.
Dang! I totally missed that. Thank goodness it doesn't got back until tomorrow... might have to check it out again. With all the time I have.
Didn't get to watch Prairie Home Companion. My guest came home, and we've been chatting (well... I've been venting) and we have to head to the theater soon.
Popping in to say hello and have a great day all!
I love Angela Lansbury.
Broadway is blessed to have her return to the stage...and with Marian Seldes no less!
Hi, Shira!
A few beers too many today while playing darts. Woohoo. Now waiting for all of the boys to come home with dinner and watch a movie. Not what I had in mind for today, but it's all good!

How was dinner? Busy night here, I made a fantastic pot roast with carrots and parsnips. (No, the kids do not eat the parsnips.)
I don't think I ever had parsnips before myself. We ordered pizza/fried chicken and watched Dirty Work. I like being "one of the guys", but sometimes it gets to be too much. I really need to find some female friends!

Who is in Dirty Work?
Norm McDonald and the rest of the normal Adam Sandler crew. It is a low budget film but hilarious!
Is that Shane West??
Yes it is. Did I finally find a boy that L likes?

Those guys are very funny.
Bears fever is high! My wife spent about $150 for Bears gear today for the kids.
Brd - that is hilarious! I started making my menu for our superbowl party, this should be interesting.
I do like Shane West, yummy!
