Why the World Needs a Brilliant new Madonna Album

So sweet. So sad. How can he not end up disappointed? The list of people she's allegedly collaborating with is just another example of too many cooks spoiling Madonna's broth. Again.
I wish she'd just sit in a van and write poems, like Jewel.

I wish she'd do something audacious. With zero build up. Just make it good and just release it.
I think she's afraid of getting older and afraid of being vulnerable and afraid of being judged for being either of those, so I can't see that ever happening.

It's really bad when a super fan like that writer cites her great songs and the newest is nine years old. I always said that given time, even loyal fans like the writer would have to do an honest assessment of MDNA.
Is that the guy who sang "To The Moon and Back" years ago? (Savage Garden?)

Oh wow, that is the Savage Garden guy.
Anyway, if all of MDNA was like "Gang Bang" or even her bonus tracks, then it could have been something special. However, it ended up just being an ok/good product that was like a B- at best.
I decided to give MDNA another spin a few weeks ago and was actually kind of surprised that I like it more than I remembered. I think "Love Spent" is a FANTASTIC song and I'll put it on my list of favorites from her.
I always thought "Gang Bang" sounded like a teenage girl who had just heard Eminem. Good production, tho.
And I agree: The world could use a good Madonna album. Or at least an okay Madonna album with a handful of good tracks.
It seems with her past few albums there have been rumoured collaborations that either never made the album or simply never happened.
And i disagree with that guy, since I really liked HARD CANDY. Not as much as AMERICAN LIFE, though. I F'in love that album.

Remember how songanddanceman used to mock me for loving American Life?
It was supposed to show my utter lack of taste, I guess.
He gave me sh*t for loving it, also. But then when he raves about MDNA he won't take any sort of criticism since she's the kween.

Which I totally get. I mean, I understand the phenomenon a little better after I read a great essay about fan loyalty. I'm not really that way about any bands or singers anymore, where I just automatically buy whatever they put out. Okay, maybe Pet Shop Boys… There are people who have such deep connections to an artist's past that they continue to purchase anything and everything. But there's nothing wrong with assessing that the product quality has diminished and not feeling obligated to "support" multi-millionaires.

It IS the Savage Garden lead singer who wrote the article.
American Life is one of my faves...
and YES jordan- Love Spent is crazy good.
I think MDNA has a handful of good songs that weren't released that deserve a second listen.
Falling Free is one of my faves-so is Best Friend.
Have any of you heard the clippet from the studio sessions of the orchestrations being recorded for the new album? Particularly for the song, 'Messiah"? I'm a sucker for string arrangements and Madonna sure knows how to play with them well. I'll never forget hearing 'Papa Don't Preach' for the first time and getting an eargasm after those opening strings.

Erm Namo ain't you a little OTT, I don't think I ever 'mocked ' you for liking American Life, and as per usual Jordan your talking out of your backside again as I didnt even know you liked that album. I think she was very creative on AL and I can still listen to it, it's just not my fave. Her lyrics are great on many of the songs though and Nothing Fails is stunning. And yes I still stand by totally enjoying MDNA (a couple of duff songs but I enjoy the rest). Jordan I agree Love Spent is one of her best.
And Namo let's not throw this album under the bus yet since it ain't even come out or had anything confirmed. Last time you said something of hers would under perform because people would not care (especially in America) was the MDNA tour....that got raves ( especially in America) and became the second biggest tour by a female artist ever.
I'm hoping she gives us a great album, she had been working on this one longer than the past few, she also had no other distractions this time so that's good.
I am not speaking out of my backside, sir. Not at all.
Jordan does many things with his backside and speaking out of it ain't one of them.
j/k
Love u boo! xoxox

Sidenote: I love Darren Hayes. He's out a bunch of solo albums post Savage Garden and they are all excellent.
Speaking of Madonna whatever happened to Lady Gaga?
Anyway, if all of MDNA was like "Gang Bang" or even her bonus tracks, then it could have been something special.
Oh God, I think that is the only thing that could have made the album worse. Gang Bang sounds like bad bathhouse background noise. But then, I absolutely HATE American Life. Hate it, hate it, hate it.
I thought Orbit's comments about MDNA suffering from Madonna being over-committed to other projects sounds about right. The songs were like potentially tasty cakes that were taken out of the oven too early. The ballads were wonderful, though.

^ Agreed. Madonna has a plethora of strong ballads.
It was nice to hear them in MDNA after not doing them for awhile.
Masterpiece and Falling Free are great on MDNA.
Here's Madonna's new Messiah string arrangements in the studio.
It feels as if this album is really being worked on. Like a Prayer.
