That's one way of looking at it. A stronger identification with HIV and AIDS advocacy might make Reagan praising more forgivable. But by the same token, doesn't it also make it less fathomable?

It seems to me that some supporters for one or the other of these candidates are the first to demand mercy for their favorite and the first to cast stones at the other.

I guess that's politics. It's exhausting.

Excuse the sidebar: Is anyone else experiencing something weird with this thread? On the main page it will say that the last post on this thread is from a certain user at a certain time (in this case, our guy Borsty at 8:31pm EST), but when I go to the last page his post is nowhere to be seen. And, yes, I try refreshing the thread's page, deleting cookies and using a different browser. It seems to happen most often with this thread. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this.

ETA: Now that I posted this response, Borsty's post directly above mine does show up. Hmph.

I understand what you're stating HT; I've noticed that at times and it seems to occur at the end of a 25 entry page post. So if your post happens to be #50 or #75 it kind of sits in BWW limbo until say #51 or #76 is entered after posting. (Not that a glitch like that is a huge problem). On the topic though, B Boy what is the meaning of your post? What are you saying? Acceptance? Understanding? Attitudes? My father used to be like that, he grew, loved me and understood me better. He's dead now. On the other hand my mother thinks the "old way", has never tried to understand me, feigns love and she's still living. I'm still here. Mores, attitudes and opinions can change and grow, but sometimes they don't. What is the happier memory for me to cherish? Are you saying people can't change. I'm getting distracted. (streaming Hamilton from White House)...color me muddled I guess...

Ah, that makes sense. Thanks, Steve. BTW, surprised none of you Bernie fans posted this. Thought the political sketches/videos were pretty funny this week...

And before you go off the rails, Hills supporters, they made fun of Bernie in the cold open, too - targeting the lack of diversity of Bernie voters and the viability of his campaign promises.

The NY Times, which has already endorsed Hillary, offers a different perspective on the Bernie-accomplished-nothing-in-the-Senate/House narrative. Very interesting to read how he - as the Times puts it - often used legislative "side doors" to win multiple modest victories and how he worked directly and cooperatively with Republicans on those bills and amendments.

It's funny because in that interview from the 80s Bernie Sanders said he believed that a woman could be president. He probably wouldn't have guessed that woman would be the one running against him years later.

I am happy that the USA will have a female president and I am genuinely happy for Hillary as a person and her family - they have achieved great things and it must feel so great to be them.

Bernie's vision will be realised in the next few decades, I'm sure.
