I have some silver dollars from sometime in the 1800's and my great grandmother's diamond stud earrings that I never take off.

I still have the blanket that I was brought home from the hospital in. It is the softest thing I've ever felt. It has a few holes near the edge from when I used to clutch the same spot for YEARS AND YEARS, but other than that, it's in good condition! It's stowed away in a box of things from when I was just a little tike.

a bear i aptly call "barry" that my mom was given on her first Christmas, fifty years ago. it sleeps next to me. it is missing a leg because i used to have a wild dog that would eat non-edable things (i.e. my little mermaid barbie). then my sister tried to repair it and made a toy hospital. also, i have my grandfather's class ring from 1947 that my grandma gave me on my graduation since my grandfather is no longer (physically) here. that one means a lot to me. i also have an edger allen poe collection of stories from the '40's and some old records, one is a single of "somewhere over the rainbow" from the thirties.

probably my ViewFinder collection
I have a hand printing press from the 1930s that got me jobs as Ed in You Can't Take it With You (plus, I can play the xylophone). Also some ceiling fans from the turn of the century and lots of old bottles, printers trays, oscillating fan from the 1940s, and these two huge boxes from the Korean War used to store human blood. My parents collected a lot of bizarre entiques during the 70s and early 80s. My brother has a wood-burning pot-bellied iron stove.
Mr. B...and he is the best thing I "own" too! I also have some dolls and a pair of marionettes from the 19th century.
My "cup of sorrow" from the coronation of Nicholas II.
With the exception of some antiques, I have a pair of Timberland boots which are over 20 years old and still in great condition.
i have my dad's class ring from a small college in Florida called Stetson. i've never been there, it's near DeLand, wherever that is. There is no year on the ring, but it's from 1941. i don't wear jewelry, but it's nice to have it. My last trip home for the holidays, my mom also had some scrapbooks of pictures and newspaper articles about my namesake (my dad's father). i found out one of his sons, my dad's brother, was also named for him, the same as me---but that uncle died in the WWI. My mom gave me the scrapbook, as my dad had passed a while ago and she's remarried. i barely knew my father's family, so these things are not that old, but they mean a lot to me.
i think Miriam's books sound amazing. i used to have a Playbill from when my dad did dinner theatre in college, but i've lost it. i'd love to keep it with the ring and scrapbook. At least my odd love for theatre is somewhat genetic!
